When I watched it live, in full speed (which is the only view that Doug himself got), it never even occurred to me that is was a forward pass. It looked totally fine. After Wilson pitched it, he ended up 2 yards in front of the back that caught it.
Watch it again in full speed:

Collinsworth has the luxury to see the super slow mo and make it sounds like it was an obvious challenge but it was not. Nobody has even explained to me if the "guys upstairs" get the same looks that the TV announcers get but if they do, then they screwed up. I have a feeling that they don't get those same looks. I bet there's a slight delay (5 sec) between the TV feed and the live action. Seattle hurried to the line after the play, so I don't really blame Doug for not tossing it.Canada's #1 Eagles fan.

But if he challenges and the call on the field “stands” everyone would criticize him for wasting a TO. There was as much evidence that the ball went forward as there was that Smith had the first down on the earlier challenge. I can understand him being gun shy because the other one was just as much as a sure thing. I’m still pissed about it.Canada's #1 Eagles fan.

That really ended up being a game changer. Then again we couldn't keep them out of the endzone. I think Seattle deserved the win and they got it. We really got whipped up front. I just read where Doug said that the team has to practice better because the mistakes made in the game were the same ones that they had been making in practice. WTF does that mean???
And, they got one.
