  • Frank Robunson dead at 83.

Robinson was one of the best all round right handed hitters I had the pleasure of seeing play, even though he was on the Reds. Saw him park more than a couple in the left field bleachers at Connie Mack. Had an infectious smile and always stuck me as a real decent guy. I had forgotten that he was MLB's first black manager with the Indians.

    May he rest in peace.

Truth in advertising here I have to say I hated the Reds with a passion as a kid. Always, always seemed to beat the Phils. Having said that I will say Robinson was a hell of a ballplayer. Triple crown, MVP in both leagues, etc. He isn't mentioned as the best ever, and probably isn't, but he should be in the conversation IMM.
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
    Hope is not a strategy
    RIP
