  • I’ll make a bet.....

Sports betting is now legal everywhere in the US.... or more accurately everywhere States want to legalize it. NJ won their Supreme Court case and Atlantic City is already to start taking bets in a few weeks. Predictions are that nationally casinos will see a $150 billion increase in sports bets. The NCAA, NBA, NFL, NHL and MLB all sued the state to stop them from betting on their games. With literally hundreds of billions of dollars at stake the question is; how long before those same entities sue for a cut of the action? I’ll say it will be 15 years before greed will over power them as it does in virtually everything related to major sports entities. If there is money being made legally from their games, the greedy bastards will want their share and blind them to the hypocrisy of talking out of both sides of their mouths.

It won't take 5 years before they are involved on some level and getting money for their involvement.
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
    Hope is not a strategy

Good point Juk, I never thought of that. Of course they'll have their hands out. I'm surprised they haven't gone after Vegas already. They will benefit them anyway as viewer percentage will increase again too. It think that ND is right though in that it won't take those greedy bastards 15 years to think of sueing though.

I’ll be surprised if it takes 15 months.

Actually as I was reading more about the lawsuit it turns out that some of the leagues were suing to stop NJ because they wanted the ban lifted and a new FEDERAL law implemented to allow betting. These assholes aren't against it at all! They want a larger area and not individual states! No question they will have their hands in the casino pockets in no time!!!

They have already asked for a 1% cut. Or ask for some type of "fee" to cover enforcement and compliance by players, agents, refs and other people except owners!
