Coincidentally I was a 13E10 in the army. I figured the firing data for 155mm howitzers and 8” howitzers in Germany

Wow that’s impressive mm. Not to brag but I use a 12” howitzer...... I just don’t get to use it very often.

Have a passing acquaintance with that round myself having been a field medic in an artillery battalion of 155 SPs back in the day in SE Asia. Was always impressed with the relative ease with which the guys on the guns handled these rounds which weighed virtually 100 lbs each.


Had a couple of good buds that were in Fire Direction Control. Good dudes and smart, which was kind of important considering their role.

we had a Couple Somoans in Germany that carried an 8" round on each shoulder. They weighed over 200lbs each. They were built like refrigeraters and could play some serious volleyball

It seems like Samoans are made to play football. That island only has about 50,000 people on it yet 35 of them are in the NFL. They are human levers.
