Default Anyone familiar with Philly HS Bball

I do not follow high school basketball, despite everyone saying how great of a tradition Philadelphia has; and I dont follow college recruiting.

Just a question to those that do:

How does Scoop Jardine and Jackson(?) play on the same team in HS and end up in Syracuse - where was Jay Wright or any of the Big 5

I think a kid on Pitt played on some team in the area

I guess my question is how are these kids leaving the backyard if there is so much great bball culture in the area.

Jay Wright has done at least some recruiting in his backyard. That's quite a change for Nova.

Some kids just don't want to go to Nova.
