Report: A.J. Green will not play in Week 13
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green will definitely not play in the team's Week 13 game against the Philadelphia Eagles according to Bob Holtzman of ESPN.
After being carted off the field on the second play from scrimmage with a severe hamstring injury two weeks ago, there was never much chance that Green could play again this soon but it is good to have confirmation. Holtzman did say Green's hamstring is "healing as expected," suggesting he could be back in the next couple games. Once the Bengals are mathematically eliminated from playoff contention, it is possible they will choose not to risk further injury to their best offensive player by putting him back on the field in 2016. Wideouts Brandon LaFell and Tyler Boyd plus Pro Bowl tight end Tyler Eifert will likely have to carry the passing game for the remainder of the season.
