  • Help please (rate my draft)

I just found out that I'm going to have the 10th pick in a 10 team keeper league. (This is our first year and we will have 1 or 2 keepers).

I'm struggling with who I should pick. McNabb will probably be there for sure and I always have McNabb. I'm thinking of taking McNabb and Westbrook. Am I nuts? The Eagles should get off to a hot start and then I could find some guys that have easy finishes.

Would you take Steven Jackson over Westbrook if both are available?

If I don't have McNabb I'm miserable and I won't get him with pick 30.

QBs have a little more value than normal in our league. I'm also considering Palmer (as a possible keeper).

I would absolutely take Steven Jackson over Westbrook. But then again, I could be totally wrong.

I'd take Westbrook over McNabb, possibly, too. Or Chad Johnson / Harrison / Holt / Smith etc.

The question is your league setup.

6 points for QB TD pass? 4?

Remember that it's a 10 team league. There will always be players dropping (unlike a 12 team league where RBs are a premium).

Once in my life I'd like a top 3 pick. I've never been able to get a guy like LT / SA.

I've decided to go Jackson and Westbrook if they are there. Maybe McNabb falls to me in Round 3-4 if not then I still have my boy Westbrook.

I'm for sure taking Westy and the best RB available. The thing is I don't like guys like Rudi, or Lamont, or Ronnie Brown might be ok but I don't really want him.

The interesting thing will be where Reggie Bush goes. This is a keeper league so if he continues to shine in the preseason he might even be gone before I pick. It would be tempting to take him if he's there.

You could take westbrook and s. jackson but if rudi is still left I'd take him for sure. It sounds like s. jackson is "projected" to have a good season but it's not for sure. Rudi on the other hand, is a reliable back. He may not be as entertaining as guys like LT but he gets the job done. I believe he's also had back to back seasons with at least 1,400 yards. And depending on C. Perry's condition, he may not lose too many touchdowns to him because perry has been down and injured with something lately. Westbrook should get lots of rushes and also get lots of receptions from McNabb with T.O. out of town(reggie brown may be a REAL nice late pick up in the draft). But as far as McNabb, he could possibly fall to at least rounds 3 and 4, depending on how everyone feels about him.

Absolutely take Stephen jackson over Westbrook although I dont think he'll be available at 10. Depending on who else is in your league, they'll devalue the Eagles players. I wouldnt take Westbrook and McNabb 10th and 11th.. that's just foolish.

Cadillac Williams I'd take over Westbrook too if he's available.

Also, Ronnie Brown should have a breakout year with ricky out of town. He could be there as well. Maybe even Domanick Davis. He may be good if he stays healthy.

Reggie Bush doesn't sound like a bad option at all since it's a keeper league.

Bush will be gone, I'm pretty sure. I don't like Rudi or Domanic. Brown on the other hand is a possibility.

Man I would stay away from Double D in Houston. Sounds like his knees are begging for a few injuries. I think Ronnie Brown will have a good year. Always good to get RBs from teams with good defenses, so Rudi, Ronnie, etc. should be solid. Some lunatic took Reggie Bush at the #10 slot in one of my leagues, but I think he will last until Round 3 in most leagues.

So here is what happened last night.

I know most of you don't have defensive players but the league rules for offensive players are the old SANDBOX rules. 15 yds/pt for RB, WR, TE. 30 yds/pt for QBs. All TDs are 6 pts.

You must start 1 QB, 1 RB, 1 WR, 3 WR/RB (this makes RBs very valuable!), 1 TE, 1 K, 3 D players every week.

Also this will be a keeper league and next year we will have 2 keepers. (In case you're wondering why I took Cutler)

                    1. (10) C. Williams RB
                    2. (11) B. Westbrook RB
                    3. (30) R. Wayne WR
                    4. (31) D. McNabb QB
                    5. (50) T. Jones RB
                    6. (51) F. Gore RB
                    7. (70) T. Houshmandzadeh WR
                    8. (71) D. Williams RB
                    9. (90) Ma. Jones WR
                    10. (91) P. Rivers QB
                    11. (110) K. Bulluck DL
                    12. (111) R. McMichael TE
                    13. (130) A. Wilson DB
                    14. (131) V. Davis TE
                    15. (150) Ma. Clayton WR
                    16. (151) Mi. Clayton WR
                    17. (170) J. Cutler QB
                    18. (171) E. Wilford WR
                    19. (190) B. Dawkins DB
                    20. (191) J. Kasay K

I am pretty happy with my team, especially now that Donovan has Stallworth to throw to. One thing I regret is taking Rivers when Maroney was still available. I still have a spot for 1 RB. I'm wondering if I should pick up a handcuff like Pittman, Buckhalter, or maybe take a chance on Michael Turner. If LT goes down having Turner would be nice!.
