  • DL vs. OL, liked these

    Other highlights from the one-on-ones:

    • On Darilek's next snap after the fight [with Trent Cole], rookie defensive end Chris Gocong paid the price for Cole's sins; Darilek drove him to the ground and finished with a forearm flourish to Gocong's neck . Coaches made sure Cole and Darilek didn't go head-to-head for the rest of the practice.
Nice to see some fire from these guys, hope they save some of it for opening day!

    • Rookie behemoth guard Max Jean-Gilles pancaked veteran defensive tackle Ed Jasper , but on the next snap, Mike Patterson lined up across from Jean-Gilles and zipped inside the startled rookie, who barely laid a finger on Patterson.

    • Rookie offensive tackle Winston Justice had a hard time with DE Darren Howard. Howard went outside and Justice, beaten, latched down desperately on an arm to try to slow him, an obvious holding penalty. On the next snap, Howard faked the same move, but ducked inside and got through untouched.
    Keep at it, rook!

    • DE Jerome McDougle, who finally looks like a first-round draft pick, absolutely owned slow-footed offensive tackle Calvin Armstrong.
    OWNED!

    • Howard pulled a towel out of his waistband and threw a mock penalty flag after Darilek held Gocong.
"Philly fans are great....It's the only place where you pull up on the bus and you've got the grandfather, the grandmother, the kids and the grandkids - everybody flicking you off. At other stadiums, they give you the thumbs-down. Here, they give you the middle finger.”
    — Michael Strahan

"No one likes us, no one likes us, no one likes us, we don’t care, we’re from Philly, F—-ing Philly, No one likes us, we don’t care!”
    - Jason Kelce with the best championship speech ever

If Kearse could learn how to work an indside move like this....look out!

I have seen him do it...its hard when you are being doubled...but we should see it again this season

On Sportsnight, I saw Jerome make Runyan look old and slow as well.
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.
