  • Owens again

According to this article, Owens has a (real) twitter account and said the following to someone who posted they were disappointed he was released by the Cowboys:

neither ws i, blame the OC & romo!! but i'm happy 2 b where i am but i miss the other guys tht were & r true teammates!!
Guess he's not blaming Witten (yet).

Gotta be careful with some of the info coming from twitter. Assante and Trent Cole had posts that were found to be from phony accounts. I also think there was supposed to be somewhere you can go to verify if a player actually has an account. Unfortunately I don't remember where that was.
As for owens, I hope he has one and that he posts stuff that aids in the demise of his career.
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
    Hope is not a strategy
    RIP

I hope someone hacks into owens' account if he has one and posts that.

The article does say that Owens' official home web page has a link to that twitter account, which is why they assume it was real (as opposed to the Cole etc. ones).

As soon as his career ends, I'm quite sure he'll be on ESPN or NFL Network almost immediately. You think he's hard to ignore now. (I think he recently did a short stint as a sportscaster on a Buffalo TV station... he was rather good actually. Link here.)

The dude's even got his own reality show. He'll get an ESPN gig the moment he retires. Or, more likely, a Fox TV gig......

The story's gained some legs...here's an NBC affilate in Dallas reporting it:
              http://www.nbcdfw.com/sports/footbal...rett-Romo.html
They tell Dallas fans to expect a "surprisingly successful" season. I dunno, they've got a lot of talent on paper, though they need Williams and their other WR's to produce really bad.

RotoWorld is also reporting it as fact...

Terrell Owens is blaming Cowboys offensive coordinator Jason Garrett and quarterback Tony Romo for running him out of Dallas.

Answering a fan who said he was unhappy that T.O. left Dallas, Owens tweeted: "Neither ws i, blame the OC & romo!! but i'm happy 2 b where i am but i miss the other guys tht were & r true teammates!!"

Saw a funny article in the Star-Telegram today. Owens is now taking pot shots at Jerry Jones too, basically saying that "someone who said on two occasions that he'd stay in Dallas" violated his trust and broke his word by letting him go.

According to this Star-Telegram piece by Randy Galloway, Jones had the following to say the same day Owens was to essentially call him a liar.

"I read carefully what’s written(about/from Owens)," said Jones. "I’m interested."
                        The logical next question:
Why? Why would you even care?
"He’s credible with me," came the amazing answer. "That’s what makes it interesting."
Now look, Owens is a lot of things, starting with talented on the football field, and a smart manipulator of the weak and the gullible, particularly in his own locker room.
                        But credible?
Somewhere out there on the vast sports landscape, there might be a more self-serving, excuse-making, overrated, paranoid pile of self-pity ...
But if so, I’d like a name. Owens couldn’t catch credible if it hit him in the hands. Of course, he doesn’t catch a lot of things that land there.
                        Then Jerry added:
"I did not think [Owens] was disruptive to the team. As a matter of fact, you have a huge percentage of our team — coaches and teammates — that thought his personality was a positive thing."

Galloway loves to break Jones balls (which makes me love Galloway)

                        Link to the piece:http://www.star-telegram.com/332/story/1418949.html

Worth reading IMO, 'cause Galloway pulls no punches with either of these Turd Supremes.

Give him time. He'll probably throw Mother Teresa in there too-everybody but himself. At some point the guy has to ask himself "why is it always me that goes in the end"? Nah.
