  • Mendenhall Cut

My dark horse rb for this year has been cut before he even got out of the gate.

Eagles Part Ways With Three Players

Posted by Aaron Wilson on June 11, 2009, 8:00 p.m. EDT
With the Philadelphia Eagles officially signing fifth-round tight end Cornelius Ingram to a four-year, $1.9 million contract, the team executed three other roster moves today.
The Eagles cut quarterback Adam DiMichele and running back Walter Mendenhall, the brother of Pittsburgh Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall, and waived former Baltimore Ravens defensive tackle Amon Gordon, who has a torn Achilles’ tendon.
The Eagles have only two more draft picks to sign, first-round wide receiver Jeremy Maclin (Missouri) and second-round running back LeSean McCoy (University of Pittsburgh).
The Eagles have agreed to terms with six draft picks.
Ingram caught 64 career passes for 888 yards and eight touchdowns, including 34 receptions for 508 yards and seven touchdowns two years ago.
He missed his entire senior year with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
A converted quarterback, Ingram once played shooting guard and small forward for the Gators’ basketball team.

I was very much looking forward to seeing what Mendenhall had to offer in preseason. But looks like I won't be missing much.

I thought Gordon had a chance. This is clearly a situation where they knew he would not be from his injury by training camp.
Were from Philly F in Philly no one likes us we DON'T CARE!

Yea, but the upside is they have a jump on trying to make another team or at least landing on a practice squad somewhere

Let's face it ,this team is stacked and there is not much room for a darkhorse,.
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

One name for you. Booker. Hell, I'd take a horse going to the glue factory if it gets rid of him.

He's an AR guy, they tend to hang around a little longer.

Why is Booker an AR guy? Just because they traded for him? That would mean he'd never cut any of the draft picks, because after all they're AR guys too right? The sooner that worthless turd is out here the better. I'm hoping they keep Eckel over Booker.

Because AR wanted him the year before ,and traded for him the following year I'll call him an AR guy.I don't really want the Pinkston of RBs either, but I think AR gives him a good look once again.

I'd say he appears, from the evidence, to be an AR guy as well. No way do I think he gets brought here in that trade if Andy didn't want him. The only other logical possibility to me is that Moose really wanted him, and Andy listened. If that is the case, Booker will be on a shorter leash.

I don't see any reason why Booker shouldn't get another look in training camp and preseason. He's only going to be a 3rd year player - it's not too late for him to put it together. I don't expect him to be full-time back at any point, but he could still develop into a Kevin Faulk-type 3rd down guy.
