"We can't rely on Brad Lidge to be the ninth-inning guy. It's not because we don't like him. We have a tremendous amount of respect for him. He was the guy standing when we won the World Series. But the fact of the matter is, he hasn't demonstrated he can do that now.
"There are other ways to find solutions. We owe it to ourselves to look for them. Brad may end up being the guy who makes the last pitch in a game. But that doesn't necessarily mean he has to get all three outs in the inning."
