  • Hamlin Fined For Celek Hit

    http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/...ned-12500.html

Dallas Cowboys safety Ken Hamlin was fined $12,500 by the NFL for striking a defenseless receiver in the wild-card round victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, reported Todd Archer of the Dallas Morning News.
Hamlin hit Eagles tight end Brent Celek in the first half of the game following an incomplete pass from Donovan McNabb.
Archer reported that the playoff check was for $21,000, so Hamlin played more than half of the game for free.

That hit was straight up dirty. He saw the ball bounce off Celek's hands, took two steps and popped his shoulder right into Celek's noggin. It was far worse than, say, Macho's hit vs. Denver.

How much time did Celek miss after that?

I thought he was out for the game when I first saw it. Cheap shot but that's the Cowboys, isn't it?

With the minor exception of Maclin shoving the POS Hamlin much later in the game, there was NO attempt at retribution of any kind.

I wonder if Big Jon would have let the entire game go by without 'introducing' himself to Hamlin at some point. I doubt it!

It could be argued that the Birds were not only beaten on the scoreboard, but were also bitch slapped!

          Agreeing with Tino.
This was a case of a Cowboys' cheap shot,
          with no response.

The Eagles offensive line is not aggressive enough
and gives up a lot of opportunities to hit defenders
hanging around the pile. Castillo is part of the problem
but the players don't seem to have the toughness
and nastiness of Runyan to extend the play.

I've seen a focus on hitting on most of the playoff teams.
The 2009 Eagles rated low on hitting on defense and
offense throughout the year, in my non-expert opinion.
Just another wussy Reid team, exemplified by Samuel's
pathetic efforts to tackle on defense and the overemphasis
on passing, when the defense expects a pass.

The Eagles need more talent and toughness, especially on defense.
The Eagles had a lot of guys going through the motions the
last couple of games. McDermott's defense will remain mediocre
without an infusion of talent at LB and more importantly at safety.

Yeah, that hit was a nasty piece of work.
Don't kid yourself Jimmy. If a cow ever got the chance, he'd kill you and everyone you cared about!
