Mike Mayock is one of the most respected draft analysts in the business and a rising star in the NFL Network's football coverage. He does yeoman work on "Path to the Draft", "All-Access", and was so involved with the network's draft coverage last year that he lost his voice two days into the marathon. Now Peter King of SI.com is reporting in his Monday Morning Quarterback column today that Mayock may be added to the Thursday night announcer line-up for NFL games.
No word whether Mayock would replace either Joe Theismann or Matt Millen on the broadcast or if the network would go with three men in the booth. Either Theismann or Millen could go to the sideline as a reporter or both men could be replaced and the network could start fresh. King predicts that change will be coming to the Thursday night broadcasts in some form and Mayock is a good bet to be part of that change.
