Undercover Police Will Wear Giants Jerseys at Candlestick

The San Francisco 49ers and the NFL have adopted extraordinary security measures for Sunday’s NFC championship against the New York Giants after New Orleans Saints fans complained of harassment by unruly 49ers faithful last week according to the Associated Press.

Undercover police will be dressed in Giants’ garb and on the lookout for nasty fans. Giants ticketholders will be handed a card as they enter Candlestick Park with details on how to contact police if they feel threatened. And more security cameras and undercover police officers will be in place to identify abusive fans.
    "Hey Giants, who's your Daddy?"

It's smart of them to really push this to the media and get the word out. Even knuckleheads will curb their abusive behavior if they think the opposing fan is a policeman.

By the way, I still think verbal abuse is ok. It's part of the deal.

Also, how many think this ends with "undercover police beaten while wearing Giants jersey"?

What if the cop gets killed? His family would have to live with the fact that he died in a Giant jersey.

But on a serious note, this should be league wide policy for all games. This crap has got to stop, and there is NO WAY in hell that these teams can't afford to pay for the extra security. Of course that asshole Berkewicz would probably defend the guys and call it entrapment!

It's a pretty good idea to do it at all games. Except maybe St Louis cause those fans are perfect.

How hysterical would it be to see some nitwit who doesn't pay attention to this news start throwing sh!t at someone, only to have a "fan" in an opposing jersey stand up, pull out his badge, and handcuff some guy. That's You-Tube worthy.

I'd rather see the SF Police dress "undercover" as 49ers fan and then beat the hell out of any Giants fans that get out of hand.
            Canada's #1 Eagles fan.

Did they go to an acting class earlier in the week ? It must be hard to find cops with missing teeth who can act like a total retard and be willing to perform felatio on other Giant fans.
              Something like this:

We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

What would be hilarious is if the undercover "giants fans" get into a fight with the undercover "niners fans" and then they realize both are police.

On a side note.....did they ever find the knucklehead in the Flyers jersey who beat the NY fan around new years
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
                  Hope is not a strategy

Actually there are undercover cops at the Linc every home game, and apparently some do try to instigate Eagles fans. Of course this isn't to say that legitimately aggressive fans shouldn't be dealt with.

They found one of them. Don't think they found the others yet though.
