Woody Johnson makes a statement that "Rex Ryan will remain head coach" of Jets. Wow. Lunacy.

Great news, that means he won't be here.

Rex said he wanted changes or he wanted to be fired. I guess he was talking about the FO. I would guess he also wants their OC gone. I doubt that Tebow was Rex's idea.

              Lovie Smith fired in Chicago
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

It's a miracle that guy has held on as long as he has.

Rex made a power play and won. Good for him. Now he better get the job done. I love that Tebow blew up in their faces. Idiots.

Who's left to be fired? Turner. Whisenhunt. Rivera.

If the Birds want Lovie Smith as DC I say GO FOR IT. The guy can coach defense.
You know Darren if you'd have told me 10 years ago that someday I was going to solve the world's energy problems I'd have said your crazy.... now lets drop this big ball of oil out the window.

I see murmurings of Jon Gruden here in Philly and wondered if Lovie Smith might make sense as his DC but sadly, they weren't together in tampa. Lovie was a Tony Dungy deciple. Wait.......that's my coach pick so let's connect some f&$^#@! dots!!!

You want Bill Callahan for head coach?

or, Les Miserables, NFL Edition: Lovie Smith(after 10-6 season. No playoffs, mind you), Pat Shurmur/Heckert, Andy, Norv Turner, Chan Gailey...

Wow...I'll take Lovie Smith as HC and Norv as OC over some of the reported alternatives.

As I suggested in another thread, Lovie for HC and Norv for OC would be good with me for the Birds. The Bears have had great defenses with ever changing personnel and don't seem to have quit on Smith (they were 10-6 this year) - his problem has always been offense and Norv has always been a great OC (though a terrible HC). Foles fits the Aikman style as well.
