Free-agent DT Cullen Jenkins visiting Giants
A league source has told Derrick Gunn of CSN Philadelphia that Cullen Jenkins has a meeting with the New York Giants.
The Eagles released the nine-year veteran defensive tackle on Monday along with Mike Patterson, both of whom are better suited to play in the 4-3 scheme instead of the 3-4, which the Eagles are expected to adopt.
The Giants play a 4-3.
Jenkins signed a five-year deal with the Eagles in 2011 following the lockout but had his contract restructured before last season. He was scheduled to earn $5.5 million this season and will receive $1.5 million unless he signs for more elsewhere (in which case he won't count against the Eagles' cap).
