  • GM Jerr-uh at it again!

Says they may release Demarus Ware if he doesn't rework his contract. Obviously a negotiating ploy but stranger things have happened and with Jerry's ego and power craze to control everything I wouldn't be shocked to see them actually do it! If the girls release Ware would you want him here? He's 31 and missed parts of each of last two years with injuries. He was also the best defensive player on Dallas when he played.

So what do you guys think?

This is my favorite line from another article about the Cowboys:

INDIANAPOLIS -- Even if Jerry Jones wanted to start over with his roster, the Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager says it's not an option.
"You can't do what I did in 1989 because of the contracts and cap," Jones said Monday at the NFL scouting combine. "The system automatically creates about a third turnover, but it also creates contractually for clubs a situation where you cannot just strip it. You couldn't even field a team with the hits against your cap by canceling the contracts."

Ok, correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Jimmy Johnson responsible for putting that deal together and then drafting all the players he knew were legit in college because he had just come from coaching in college??

I realize that Chip & Billy Davis are looking for an edge rusher but I would pass on Ware unless he wants to take a huge paycut. He hasn't played much the last two years & he's 31. I'd rather get THAT guy (Ealy or Ford) in the draft.
Just give me ONE before I go!

Of course Jimmy Johnson was the person who was mainly responsible for the success of the Cowboys in the early 1990's. Jerruh is responsible for the lackluster production of the Cowflops in the years after Johnson left (Switzer just reaped the benefits of Johnson's work).

This is Jerry's negotiating genius at work!

He called Ware out last season, because the defense stunk so badly, even though Ware (who had carried the defense for years) was too hurt to play much of the time. Now he opts to insult the guy AGAIN by running him down publicly as 'overpaid'. This is classic Jerry Jones...make a splash with the big contract to the big player, only to cry publicly later on when the cap gets tight. He could make the same points effectively in private with Ware, but instead plays the big, bad ass who bravely 'calls it like it is'. God, what a flaming Ass Hole!

IMO, Jerry's public displays of embarrassing verbal diarrhea stem from roughly equal parts: blinding arrogance, social retardation, childish need for unending attention and too much bourbon and branch. Who knows...Ware may decide he's heard enough shit and call Jerry's bluff.

I believe the Girls stand to take a big hit if they have to cut cut Ware. Again, the Jones genius at work!

It would be perfect redemption if Ware took the cut, signed an affordable contract with an Eastern Div opponent and then destroyed Romo in the first game the 2 teams played.
