my thoughts so far
this OL is struggling right now but if Lane comes back in a week. Kelce and Mathis will be back too and probably Mathis will be fresh. this problem is only going to take care of itself. That said, I wish we would've used that first round pick on a guard.
did you guys see Marcus Smith playing in the game late yesterday. He didn't make a play but i will say this. he seemed to move in the right direction and be reading his keys correctly. I would love to see the birds use him as an athlete that lines up all over the field and just uses his instincts...the question is how good will his instincts be. yesterday at least it appeared he got in and wasn't lost. he was moving in the direction he needed to
i love sproles and mccoy but the NFL is a passing league and having a QB is critical. a RB can be shut down an accurate passer cannot be
i am not too worried about the lack of sacks. we played a pair of good QBs the last 2 weeks. granted our pass rush is not great but luck and cousins did a good job of getting the ball out early and quickly
jenkins is our MVP so far IMO. boykin really played well yesterday too.
i would rather have maclin than desean and not because his numbers were better. he fits this offense better because he is willing to block and run over the middle. also...man Ertz is good and Matthews is really going to be good too guys. can't wait for josh huff to get out there too. matthews might move into Riley's position and then we go to war with that
our DL is good but they tend to overpursue. trent cole runs himself out of position too much
i do not get the issue with the flag on the Foles hit. it was clearly a cheap shot but it was also an illegal hit per the rules and late. Baker should be suspended for it. it was just a ridiculous hit and not defensible in any way. i don't care what cris carter and golic say. also...comparing it to the cox hit on cousins is ignorant..no one stopped playing on that delay of game.
i hate the helmet to helmet calls in the NFL but if we are going to call it lets call it. got sick of watching the skins dbacks lower their heads and hitting with the crown of their helmets
cousins started to struggle when we knocked him off his spot. have to bring A gap pressure on these QBs today
lastly...3-0 and heading to SF. probably a loss but who knows. still 3-1 is pretty frickin good but why not 4-0. this team seems to know how to win
