  • Top 4 Position needs in Off-Season

it sucks that we do have so many needs. In what order would you put our top 4 needs?

    IMHO it goes like this.

    1. OG/C
    2. WR with speed
    3. Safety
    4. Corner

We probably need to double up on the G/C spot for depth and Tackle would probably be #5 on our list.

Give the QB more time and give him a true playmaking WR and we have something on offense.

Get more depth at corner and safety and the D will be better.

OLB is a need, but not a major one.

    4B) defensive coordinator
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

1- OG/C (Guard with positional versatility preferred)
      2- OT
      3- WR (reliable deep threat)
      4A- OLB (reliable pass rusher)
      4B- CB
      4C- QB

        1. Bill Davis has to go. He's simply not getting the most out of the players he has.
        2. OT/G as I said in another thread, I think Peters is just about cooked.
        3. OG/C
They're also going to have to figure in some contract statuses, and what they're going to do long term about guys like Cox and Logan, so that may have an impact on what they need as well.

Cox and Logan are a bit undersized and rely on both speed and strength, I don't see us being able to step up for both. We may have to toss a coin and see who we think is going to last at a high level.

Concur... O-line is the biggest area for next year, plus a young QB, and a another WR.

I think the D might be fine if we can fix the O, just some minor tweaks needed.

I'm willing to bet that 3 of those 4 were on your draft wish list LAST YEAR.

tweak the DC, right out the fucking door. His top qualities are beating on injured offenses and making nobodies look like POY.

Agree, he certainly doesn't seem to use the talent he has, BUT, the D has gotten incrementally better this year. But that's just more talent, not the coaching side.

Achilles heal still seems to be 3rd down, and finding a way to get off the field. (it's sorta like if the opposing O is stuck at 3rd and 6 or longer, they has us where they want us).

                    1.) OT
                    2.) OG
                    3.) QB
4.) DE/OLB - who can rush the passer

I agree with many in this thread that Davis should be replaced. He is clueless.

                      Offense: Everything

                      Defense: Davis out the door

                        Agreed.

The guy simply cannot scheme worth a shit. Who in the hell sits back, plays soft, and lets Jamis Winston pick you apart like he's Johnny Unitas?? He's terrible.

I've been holding on, supporting Chip in spite of all the shit that he's done, and stuff that has happened. But, if he stays on next year, and retains Bill Davis, I'm f'ing done with him. You're not winning shit with Davis running your defense. That, I know for sure.

                          1. OL (inside and outside)
                          2. OLB pass rusher (Graham and Barwin need help)
                          3. Speed burner at WR
                          4. DL. A stud DE to complement Cox and a better backup or replacement for Logan.

I thought about corner and safety but I would just roll with this group especially with Shepherd back next year.
