Don't know who this Dr is but it doesn't sound real good---Please tell me he is full of shit!

Orthopedic Surgeon: Carson Wentz’s Injury Is ‘Worrisome’ - CBS Philly
“This is an ACL plus 2,” Dr. Kelly told the 94WIP Morning Show on Tuesday. “This is an RG3 equivalent folks. This is worrisome. Now, his good news, he had a very good surgeon — Dr. James Bradley. He’s going to have good therapy virtue of NovaCare. He’s a man of faith, which is important to me too. This guy is an excellent patient. But I think his timeline is very, very optimistic.” [...] “This kid, God bless him, is probably going to be brace dependent – like Brady, like RG3 was – the rest of his career,” said Dr. Kelly. “This may be a blessing in disguise, maybe become more of a drop back quarterback that we all want him to be.”

It's just speculation but very sound I think. Right from the start I thought that him being around in under a year would be a huge stretch. I just hope that when he comes back he has most of his escapability that made him special. I also think that he's the kind of guy that has to be protected from himself and I'm speaking from experience. I know that he'll be chomping at the bit to play but they have to hold him back.

Yup. And if you move Nick you still have to pick up another QB if Wentz isn't ready. He could well be PUPed this fall and then we will really have to scramble. I don't think that the Birds are in any hurry to trade Nick and Nick's agent might be calling Howie for a raise. This off season won't be as quiet as everybody thought it was going to be.

I think they need to keep Nick for sure. But, it looks like Wentz's injury is more serious than we thought, and it sounds like they should be damned careful with him.

Well first off the first words of this post say a lot....don't know who this dr is. But I don't think he is Wentz' dr or a dr with any affiliation to the Eagles. Secondly it is WIP.
So I'm not saying unload Nick; have said all along it is real nice to have a SB caliber backup. But I'm not going to go nutty about some guy who says something he knows nothing about. Actually I don't think any dr speaking about a patient he knows nothing about has much cred IMM.
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy

Bit more info on the DR. --- And I don't think that being he said this on WIP(as much as I hate those creeps), diminishes what he is saying.

NovaCare Dr. John Kelly — an orthopedic surgeon and Director, Shoulder sports medicine as well as Professor of Clinical Orthopaedic Surgery at Penn Orthopedic — isn’t so optimistic. Dr. Kelly, who admittedly has no inside knowledge of the situation, believes Wentz’s injury requires a nine to 11 month recovery.

IMO we should just sit his ass for the full year and put this crap to bed!! We have Saint Nick under contract for next year and I don't expect him to forget how to play during the off-season. That means we are primed to continue fighting for the top seed again next year with or without Carson. So why rush Wentz back? Hell we gave Jones 15 games off to heal why wouldn't we do that for our franchise QB? Wentz needs to be 100% - brace or no brace it doesn't matter! He shouldn't step foot on the field until he has completely healed and is certified as 100%. Give Nick the ball and let's get ready to defend our title!!

I agree with that Juk, but Carson will fight like hell against that. I learned a new term today, "brace dependent" lol. Everybody has something these days. I guess "I've got a bad knee" doesn't cut it anymore.

If this was the DR who,did the surgery I would be worried. It’s not and every doctor opions are just that opinions. 18 yrs ago I had a Dr tell me I had six months to live. He mis diagnosed my condition. Worst six weeks of my life waiting for a second opinion. With that said this has been traditionally a 9 month rehab. He will need to wear a brace for some time. and he isn’t fucking RG3 this is a smart dude that can read defenses and succeed even if he loses a step.
Were from Philly F in Philly no one likes us we DON'T CARE!

If it's true that 3 other ligaments were also involved -- that traditional 9 mos rehab may be a tad off--- all I'm saying is I am now more wary than I was before this. No doctor whether he is the doing it or just reads the "charts" can know how it will go-- every single person is different.

Again all this means to me is that I am now more than ever (and I was all in for Nick anyhow, for several reasons) that keeping Nick is the "smart" thing to do. now come July and the he sez he is good and he plays/practices like he is good and the Drs. agree he is good and "normal" play will not cause any more problems--- then fine, let him loose.

I do not want to see this golden opportunity slip by, this team can win for at least a couple more years.

I guess in my mind this doctor talking doesn't change anything. Actually I have been of the opinion that all people coming back from ACLs take two years before they are right again. They may be back in 11 mos or whatever but they really aren't back to the player they were. That has been discussed on this board a number of times.
As for WIP, yea I'm not saying that nothing they put out is good just that they have always seemed to me to be just as eager to start crap as not.
Guess we will all have to wait and see. But I am as concerned as anyone about his recovery

I realize that Carson is a special talent and will heal quickly, but I think it's still very unrealistic for him to play at the start of the season. I wouldn't mind if they didn't play him at all next year. That knee got destroyed on that play. First the ACL gives when he cuts, then that lanky leg of his gets sandwiched by hits in opposite directions causing ligament damage. Either one of those hits would have ended his season.

Nick is a good QB and Sudfeld might be too. I think that we have to abandon "the plan" and keep Nick period. We'll have a good team and maybe make the playoffs and it will be a fun season. I just hope that Nick's agent shuts up at this point.

It wasn’t Wentz’ surgeon. And the site 12up is the one who “broke” this news. To say 12up sucks and doing an injustice to sucking.
