  • Pierre-Paul Traded

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — A person familiar with the deal says the New York Giants have traded defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for two draft picks.
The person spoke on condition of anonymity Thursday because neither team has announced the deal that gets Tampa Bay the former first-round draft pick whose career was interrupted by a fireworks accident in 2015 that severely damaged his right hand.
The Giants will receive Tampa Bay's third-round draft pick this season for Pierre-Paul, who signed a four-year, $62 million deal a year ago. The teams will swap fourth-round picks next year.
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

    • While in NYC, Tampa Bay GM Jason Licht went to an upscale haberdasher with a beautiful new $3,500 Giorgio Armani to see what he could get for it in trade and he came back with this guy's suit...
    • and that was much better than the deal he made with the Giants.

Could be that the Giants pass on Barkly now and fill in DE vacancy with this guy

        1) Elite college production
To call Chubb a productive pass rusher at N.C. State would be a drastic understatement.

Chubb, 6-foot-4, 275 pounds, is the consensus No. 1 defensive end in the upcoming NFL Draft and considered by some to be this class's premier defender alongside defensive backs Minkah Fitzpatrick and Derwin James.

Chubb posted consecutive `10.0 sack seasons in 2017 and 2018, while coming up with 23.0 and 21.0 tackles for loss in consecutive seasons. In four collegiate seasons, Chubb recorded a total of 25.0 sacks, 54.0 tackles for loss, 198 total tackles, forced six fumbles, and recovered one.

So the Giants GM was able to trade an older one handed overpriced Defensive end for 3rd round pick but Howie couldn't get anything for Curry? Take down Howies statue he stinks

Saw on NFL Network today that it looks like Chubb will be the pick at #2. Gotta remember that Gettleman is the GM and just like Reid, he believes games are won in the trenches.
As an aside, saw that Frank Gore signed a 1 yr deal with Miami, backing up Drake.
Glad to see JPP out of the division.
Just give me ONE before I go!

I read on Twitter that JPP might have trouble playing in that stadium because his PTSD will be a challenge every time they shoot off that canon.

TB getting after the DL-- Beau, Vinny, now JPP. Not sure they are difference makers though.
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
                    Hope is not a strategy

They ought to start with that POS quarterback of theirs. Not only is he a turd he has zero discipline when he plays.
