    Keyshawn cut - did Andy know something?!

    So Keyshawn is cut by the Panthers. Did anyone see Andy Reid's interview during the draft? Berman was asking him what is in store for the rest of the off-season and Reid says "Well, I'd like to get Keyshawn in here to catch some touchdown passes" in his buttering up of interviewers that he typically does.

    Chris Mortensen jumps in and says "That's tampering coach - you'll want to stop."

    Reid responds with "Oh - you're right - sorry!"

    Perhaps it was common knowledge in league circles. Now Keyshawn is looking to play for a SB contender. I know it would create a collective head explosion for the fan base but is there any fire to this smoke?

          He is a old, mediocre WR who is a pain in the rear...other than that he could be a good fit IMO...

                      You know, as much as Meshawn got himself into all sorts of trouble, he still has the ability to go after key 3rd downs, especially when the heat is up.

                      The question is, does Andy think he needs a "Freeman" type receiver? Because if he does, Keyshawn can do that. Although Greg Lewis did give us some key 3rd down conversions last year.

                      The only issue I'd put is Chucky's and Andy's friendship.

                      Of course I'd have to agree that Andy was probably joking when he said that...

                        I'm positive that Reid was just making a joke with that Keyshawn spiel.

                        Aside from that, I don't see the fit bringing him in. Is Keyshawn a clearly better option at #3 than Baskett? Or more specifically, is that improvement worth demoting Baskett to the #4 where he'll only see the field 6-7 plays a game? This is a crucial development year for both Baskett and Avant, I don't want to see their growth shoved aside for a receiver that's at best average and on the downside.

                              God it's be so tough to root for him in Eagles green. There are only two players in the NFL I couldnt stand on my team: Keyshawn and Sapp.
