Damn, Never thought I Would hear this
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.Tags: None

There was a segment with him and Stephen Smith where he was thinking that the Eagles are now better than Dallas (mainly because Dallas lost several free agents, and traded away Amari Cooper, and did not replace them all that much). But yes Bayless loves Hurts far too much (at least based on what we've seen so far), and saw that the Eagles add AJ Brown who is a good friend, and he already has a former teammate in Smith, and that 6th-round TE was also a former teammate, so he was thinking that Hurts is being set up to success -- which he is, but Hurts has to actually do it.
Eagles have probably surpassed Dallas in many areas, and I'd have to think Dallas' defense should regress some from last year, but the QB question is massive. Hurts will improve, but he'll have to improve a lot to get into Dak's ballpark (but if he does, we could be really good). I just have my doubts.

Bit I feel Hurts has all the intangibles that Dak lacks. Including the fact that his owner isn’t a drunk douche bag. As much as people love all Dak’s abilities, he comes up small in big games IMO.Originally posted by FairOaks View PostThere was a segment with him and Stephen Smith where he was thinking that the Eagles are now better than Dallas (mainly because Dallas lost several free agents, and traded away Amari Cooper, and did not replace them all that much). Hurts does has all the intangibles, it seems. Definitely a gamer, and will always do work to get better. Those core passing/recognition/accuracy skills though seem tough to learn, especially for players who can solve problems by running while growing up. But, he doesn't have to get all the way there this year.Originally posted by musicman View Post

I'm not completely sure that Dak doesn't have the intangibles, to be honest. I don't really recall the consistent bad and horribly timed mistakes like say Kirk Cousins has. Mike McCarthy was a bad enough coach to sink Rodgers in the playoffs many times; he can certainly do the same for Dak.

I just can't find a weakness in Dak. . What intangibles does Hurts have that Dak doesn't? You guys are reaching. His teammates love him. Sure Hurts heart is great but who in America would want Hurts over Dak.? He's a top 5 guy.Originally posted by musicman View Post

I agree that Dak to this point has earned the right to be top 10 IMO. But, I can't put him any higher because he still has a lot to prove. Dak has had loads of talent around him, especially at WR. And, he has indeed come up small in big games or whenever his top WR's have been out. It's kind of the same reasons that I can't put Matt Ryan in the top 5.Originally posted by Eagle60 View Post

This is going to be a interesting year for both Dak and Hurts. Dak has lost some of his talent around him and Hurts has gained talent. This year will show us all a lot, especially when it comes to Hurts. I can't wait for this season.

I can't wait for every football season to start Pliny! I don't really think that we are ready to excel yet though. We're still in QB hell and unless we have a defense like Baltimore and Crazy Ray we're going to come up short.Originally posted by Pliny View Post

I’d agree Dak is a good QB but I am not sure I would put him top ten. I’d make a case that Mahomes Brady Rogers Wilson Allen Herbert Burrow Watson Ryan and Carr all could be above him. I think I would lump him in with Stafford Murray Cousins and the like.
as someone above said he has had talent around him. Even with that talent he hasn’t made much noise is the playoffsWait until next year is a terrible philosophy
Hope is not a strategy
RIP

he had the greatest line ever to walk the face of the earth, a top RB, TE and WRs and they've done nothing except come to our field that one game and quit. Statistcly he's great. If I need a win and get to pick any QB, it's not DakWe're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable.
