  • Due Diligence: Eagles Meet With WR Xavier Worthy Before He Broke Combine Record.

This guy is intriguing, but his size gives me pause. And I can't help but get a Quez Watkins vibe after reading about his occasional concentration drops.

Yea speed is nice but give me a half step slower in favor of someone who can run routes and catches the ball consistently
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
    Hope is not a strategy
    RIP

Agree. The article mentions John Ross, who was fast as hell, but didn't have much of an impact at all. Worthy mentions that he's a fan of DJax, but I don't know if he's got that type of game.

There are so many quality WRs I can see us selecting another #1 type . But really there are so many ways we can go
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

In case you missed it, Ladd McConkey ran a 4.4 at about 195 pounds. This kid is not going to make it out of the first round. He is the second best WR in this draft after Marvin Harrison Jr.
You know Darren if you'd have told me 10 years ago that someday I was going to solve the world's energy problems I'd have said your crazy.... now lets drop this big ball of oil out the window.

I am not as concerned about a speed guy. Give me a guy that fights for the ball. I too like Pearsall. I also think hunter renfrow may hit the market.

McConkey I expect to go earlier than forecasted. Pearsall too, most likely. They have speed, hands, and route running. They have the numbers to back it up too. Agile as hell too.

Wouldn't bother me at all to see either of them at WR3 in Philly. I think they'd fit well in the offense.

True. with the way offenses are designed nowadays, a WR3 is practically a starter.

He’s a short WR with RB skills after the catch

Re: McConkey and Pearsall. If either are still there in Rd 2, they'll be snatched up. Eagles might have to use a 2nd or even their 1st possibly.

Xavier Legette is an intriguing prospect I think no doubt. He had a ton of injury issues at South Carolina and uneven QB play. He is 6-1, 220 and ran a 4.39 at the combine. You can't teach that size/speed combo. He wasn't used much in college until his final year. So he doesn't have a lot of polish. I think he is also going to flag potentially as a medical concern because he just never could get completely healthy and some of that is being that big... it's a bit like Deebo. If he slides, I'd have zero issue with taking him but he is not worth a top 75 pick in my mind.
