  • Your Thoughts on TE2

I personally think Ozumah and Calcaterra will be the backups. Ozumah is Stoll with more athletic ability and will catch more balls and can do some big things. Grant has the potential to be Hunter Henryish and both will have the chance to get wide open with all the other talent. I wish people would get more excited about this season. I think we will improve in leaps and bounds just because we have 2 coordinators who aren't affraid to play some real ball. Those 2 guys from last season were fucking deer in headlights. Anyway this is an NBCSports Philly article about the TEs

We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

You are certainly right about the coaching MM. Those two coordinators that we had last year were simply not ready for the job. The problem that I see going forward is that all the new terminology and reads are going to be different for Hurtz this season and he will probably struggle with the new offense for a while anyway and possibly the whole season.

I think they will run a lot of read options . They are going to have some very good athletes who will be up against lesser players. They are capable of defeating almost anyone one on one. 6-10 plays with 2-3 reads is enough for them to run while they build the playbook. I see the defense being young and making some mistakes, but they are going to hit you, and make plays on you , but also give up some big plays on miscues. The thing is, they are gonna go 100 mph. They have so much depth. This is really shaping up to be a cool season IMO

I think they are okay there. Neither is exceptional and I think Howie will scour the waiver wire and other team’s practice squads for upgrades but I don’t think it is a high priority.
I am certainly excited for the season. I think they have the players to go to the SB. If injuries don’t bite them they should be a top five team in the league. They surely upgraded their coaching staff.
My biggest concern, as 60 said, is how will Hurts handle ANOTHER change at OC/ QB coach. He really needs some stability so I hope he and Moore can meld.
Number two for me is that I thought Hurts could develop into a pocket passer that runs to get out of trouble. I don’t think that’ll be the case. I think he has to run in order to pass from the pocket. That always always always increases the chance for injury and shortens a QB career. I would really like to see him do a better job using others and it is on Moore to help with that.
There are always things to improve ( like edge rusher maybe) but I am happy with the roster.
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
        Hope is not a strategy
        RIP

          Hey guys been a while!

if I had to guess, I'd say that Uzomah (?) ends up TE2, as Calcaterra is more of a receiving TE type. Uzomah blocks and can catch some too.
