  • Landon Jackson, DE, Arkansas thoughts?

64 days to the draft... I'm going to start throwing names out there. I like this kids size and motor. He has very long arms and can play with leverage. He should be there at 32 but the Birds could even slide back 10 spots and get him. He is going to test OK but he is not going to be some 4.6 dude. My guess is he is going to run a 4.85 or 4.9 at 6-6, 275. That is exactly what the doctor ordered opposite Jalyx Hunt and Nolan Smith.

You know Darren if you'd have told me 10 years ago that someday I was going to solve the world's energy problems I'd have said your crazy.... now lets drop this big ball of oil out the window.

Well the two areas that are his weakness are that he plays too high and doesn't have a lot of athleticism. unfortunately for him those are two things that you cannot teach. You can't teach a player to play low, That's just how some players play Including Eric Dickerson who is the all time rusher but he stood straight up in the air when he ran And I'm sure coaches try to change that but of course his results were outstanding so he just played that way. On top of that you sure can't teach athleticism So I sure don't think he's a second round pick like that guy said he was.
    "Hey Giants, who's your Daddy?"

He looks like a potentially good future DT. IMO he doesn't look athletic enough to beat the exceptional LTs in the NFL. He looks like he plays with a lot of effort. I would be interested in seeing what % of his stats are lesser teams and what he did vs the better teams. He doesn't look to me like a second round pick.
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.
