Everyone has confidence in Steen, except maybe the Eagles. Sure seems to be a lot of Guards in the lineman room. We haven't even gotten to add draft picks and UDFAs. Kelce comes out and says he's inconsistent . Not good for the young man.

We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.Tags: None

Just feel that Stout isn’t sold on him or Keegan with the number of guys they are bringing in. They have brought in a few guys in their ‘30’ visit so I expect at least one OL drafted and probably two. The bright side of it all is that none of them cost much and can be cut with no real financial penalty to the birds. I think the guy with the best shot at making the roster is Pryor and I think that is as a versatile depth guy so there is a starting spot available to the guy who steps up. They will also carry at least three on PS IMO.Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
Hope is not a strategy

As a side note - I’m not sure Zabel is ready to step into a starting role somewhere; esp as a first round pick. Basically because of playing NDSU level although Volson and Mauch both stepped into starting NFL OL roles out of NDSU. But I’d love to see what Stout could do with him. He has talent.Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy

The only way to get consistent is to play more, probably. Seumalo was very inconsistent for his first couple of years. Eagles certainly need depth (and maybe even a successor plan for Steen if he does turn out good; he's a free agent in two more years). So it completely makes sense for them to be drafting OG, and shoring up the position with some veterans, so you're not desperate during the draft. It could certainly be masking concern about Steen but it's not definite. We'll get a much bigger hint when minicamps or training camp starts -- we will see if they are rotating to give Steen some legitimate competition, or if he is the starter from day one. He was the starter last year until he got hurt in preseason, and Becton didn't let it go.

When all is said and done, I don’t know how happy they really were with Becton. He was a monster in the run game (graded 19 of 135 OG per PFF), but only 60th in the passing game. He was 21st overall tho, which likely means that PFF tilts its evals towards run game. In other words, we are probably replacing average with average. Fine, but would have hoped for better."Hey Giants, who's your Daddy?"

FWIW (maybe not much), Pryor was 8th in pass pro, 51st in run game, and 31st overall.Russian reporters to Bobby Clarke: Can you imagine hockey without fights?
