OT: Anyone live near Camden/Dover Delaware?

Hey all,

Got some good news. I received a phone call on friday that I've been recommended for a 7th grade social studies teaching position at F. Niel Postlethwait Middle School in the Caesar Rodney School District located in Camden Delaware. I've always enjoyed Delaware for the tax free shopping and the fishing but I know little about the Camden/Dover area. Anyone care to fill me in a little bit? Also I'm going to be looking for an apartment/house down there if anyone has any recommendations.

I've never lived in DE, but I've worked down there quite a bit. To put it mildly, I'd never move there, especially if you have children.

The tax-free shopping is nice and the property taxes are low, but the public schools are absolutely horrendous statewide. They are worse in the Northern part of the state, but they still are pretty bad all around.

So, the money you save in taxes is usually spent on private school.

It might be a nice place to retire to...
