Even though we are dealing from a position of strength I think the pressure is on us anyway if you are talking a "top 5" receiver. Since one of the top 5 recivers is a FA We can only have a potential of 4 trade partners to start with. so anytime one of them is eliminated it reduces our chances considerably. You would have to consider Owens to be top 5 so take Dallas off the list, that leaves 3, if it doesn't work out with ariz take them off that leaves 2 possible trade partners and the remote possibility of signing Moss

I guess we could debate all day who the other 2 would be but as long as they are a receiver that is worthy of at least being talked about as a top five I'll be ok. I'm not so sure I would throw walker into that catagory but I would say we draw the line at him and anybody who is regarded as better than him would be ok with me.
I think it has always been a very hard task to add this guy via trade (this is why I think the pressure is on us) but the eagles do have a very tradeable, cap friendly, and valuable cb in Lito, I expect the phone is ringing with all kinds of proposals many of which don't involve top five recievers at all. It would be disappointing but to a large degree understandable if a deal could not be made for a reciever.

Combine this with Clemen's agent's press conference from friday where he commented that the eagles told him they were busy negotiating on another deal at the time his deal was happening, the eagles didn't tell him what the deal was.

Something's going on. There is a lot of smoke for there to be no fire.

I should have put it in the conjecture thread. I love this off season so far

What about throwing this at Arizona.....

Lito, Reggie Brown and a 2nd round pick. As a last resort, I would go ahead and offer Eagles 1st round pick this year instead of the #2.

Reggie is a pretty good #2 receiver. And, his salary is manageable. We have enough #2 receivers on this team, which makes Reggie expendable. If Boldin is the #1 for Arizona, Reggie might be a pretty good #2 for them.

I would love to see: Fitz, Curtis and Avant/Baskett working out with Don in Arizona next year.....all as Eagles.

I would think that Arizona would be foolish not to consider an offer like this. But then again, they are Arizona.

the cap implications of moving Reggie Brown are astronomical. If he stays on the roster - it's about a $2.5MM cap hit - if they trade/cut him - it's over a $8MM cap hit. Won't happen.

                Ouch. Forget that trade option.
