Re: Is It Really True that Fitzgerald Want to Play in Philly
Even though we are dealing from a position of strength I think the pressure is on us anyway if you are talking a "top 5" receiver. Since one of the top 5 recivers is a FA We can only have a potential of 4 trade partners to start with. so anytime one of them is eliminated it reduces our chances considerably. You would have to consider Owens to be top 5 so take Dallas off the list, that leaves 3, if it doesn't work out with ariz take them off that leaves 2 possible trade partners and the remote possibility of signing Moss
I guess we could debate all day who the other 2 would be but as long as they are a receiver that is worthy of at least being talked about as a top five I'll be ok. I'm not so sure I would throw walker into that catagory but I would say we draw the line at him and anybody who is regarded as better than him would be ok with me.
I think it has always been a very hard task to add this guy via trade (this is why I think the pressure is on us) but the eagles do have a very tradeable, cap friendly, and valuable cb in Lito, I expect the phone is ringing with all kinds of proposals many of which don't involve top five recievers at all. It would be disappointing but to a large degree understandable if a deal could not be made for a reciever.
