Hey MD..Ravens report?

Since you are in Raven territory just wanted to get an idea of what the fans and media are expecting?

Up this way, the Raven talk has been surprisingly quiet so far (not that I'm complaining). One die hard Raven fan friend of mine isn't expecting much...maybe .500 if things break right he says. He's the only one I've heard talking Ravens so far.

I like Harbaugh, but I gotta say I hope they have a miserable season...including a miserable game come late November when we travel down there... . No other team I hate more than the teams in our division, but the Ravens aren't far behind. And having to listen to their fans is a major pain in the ass. Thankfully there are more Philly fans here....I know it's alot worse down where you are.

Theo, Truly I don't pay all that much attention. Maybe BP or BE do but all I see the local TV and talk, and I talk to some guys that have season tix... and I don't think the expectation level is all that high. They have already lost a bunch of players, they still have an unsettled QB situation, and they have a bit of age on them now.

That Division is getting tougher, new coach, new system...... I'm personally not looking for too much out of them, and hopefully by the time we come down in November they will be packing it in. Some of the people I talk to here are trying to reserve judgment till they see how Harbaugh handles some things. D is getting a bit long in tooth and the O is going to try and depend on Magahee a lot this year.

I'm thinking like 7 and 9. Although if the division really gets better or they get a few more serious injuries, 6 and 10 or 5 and 11 isn't out of the question.

I listen to 1300 and 1570 sports talk in Baltimore pretty frequently on my way home from work and here's what I've heard:

1 - Harbaugh is running a very tough camp. I believe this is relative to "Billick" who ran a joke of a camp and a joke of a team. Players are saying it's very demanding.
2 - Harbaugh has all three QB's in a wide open QB competition. No presumed starter. I believe they even talked about a rotating #1 each day.
3 - Some dude named Marcus Smith (WR) is the star of camp
4 - Both starting tackles are banged up something fierce (Terry/Gaither) and it's a huge problem
5 - Ray Rice is lighting it up as well and supposedly McGahee is a dog
6 - Haloti Ngata is also banged up bad.
7 - Terrell Suggs is a no show over his contract

Generally speaking Harbaugh is putting in a "REID" like camp and philospohy and for now the veterans are buying into it. They still know they are going to stink this year.

I browse the Baltimore Sun just about every day, and I think they aren't hyping them nearly as much as the Washington media is hyping the Redskins. Of course, some of that is due to the fact the Orioles have been surprisingly competitive this year (with a lot of comeback wins) while the Nationals are really, really bad and some people want the season over already.

IMO, the Ravens are going to stink this year, but they could be competitive because the AFC North looks like a mess right now.
