Did his performance against the Pats help relieve any of the fan's anxiety about Akers?

He went 2-2 in FG and obviously hit his xtra pt attempts. Looked smooth and the snaps/holds were good.

I want to see more, but how about others?

So we're not fine there yet?

        Nope. Not yet.

I am praying Akers returns to his former glory. It was wonderful when we could take our FGs for granted.

....and that included 45-yard FG's at that!

I really want to go back to calling that guy "Money" as soon as possible.

Until he bangs a couple of 45 yarders through the uprights, I'll remain a bit skeptical that he's back.

I didn't see the game (only saw the highlight reels).....hmm, the FGs were both 24 yarders. Yep, you're right, we need him back, but for now we don't know.

think he'll be better than last year but I don't see him being as good as he used to be. the last game showed nothing because those field goals were literally gimmes.

                  Re: Akers

I go along with what everyone else is pretty much saying....until he makes a couple from outside of 40 yards, I'm still not convinced he's 'back'.

This past week was nothing. He is still absolute money inside of 40. I'm actually hoping we have a couple of drives stall around the 25-30 yard line on Thursday so he can get a chance to knock a couple through.

And no matter what Andy says, I gotta believe he has to be a little concerned as well. Not "if he cant make a couple of 40 + yarders he's gone" concerned. But at least "I hope he gets his stuff together real quick" kind of conerned.

                    Re: Akers

Akers has fallen so far that the guy in my office fantasy league dropped him (obviously a computer generated pick).
Worse yet, I have little inclination to pick him up.

Akers will be on a very short leash all year, IMO.

I'm still a bit suprised they didn't bring in anyone to push him. If memory serves me, he only hit two FGs beyond 40 yards last year. That is abysmal. I'd like to see him get back, who wouldn't, but we're not going to know for sure until the games count.

Hit a 40 yarder and 27 yarder, good long kickoffs...

How do people feel now? Any better or need to see it in games?

glad to see him doing well, but he's been so erratic the last two years i'm not changing my "wait and see" stance with him all year long.
