  • Forgot to post my game notes, so here they are.

    1. Mcnabb had an overall good game, few bad throws, and led the team down to the goal line in crunch time. Unfortunately the coach took the ball out of his hands. Touchdown to Jackson was an absolute beautiful throw.

    2. Andy really screwed the pooch. Horrible calls in the red zone. Team came out flat. Bad clock management at the end of the first half. Not directly his fault, but should have challenged the spot on that 3rd and 7 play in the 4th.

    3. Desean Jackson had a very up and down game. Looked good running the end around, had some good catches. Bad play on the muffed punt, compound that by getting gunshy and letting the next one role past him for about 20 yards. McNabb's interception was at least partially his fault.

    4. TE - this position is in real trouble. Both TEs in the game had drops and of course we all know about Schobel's non-block on 4th and goal. Schobel should be cut immediately and for this team to do anything in the playoffs LJ needs to get healthy and on his game.

    5. JJ got his lunch eaten on that first defensive series. Giving up points at the end of the point is really getting old, that's now 3 weeks in a row.

    6. Considine, everyone's favorite whipping boy played well on special teams, especially that TD saving tackle on the kickoff following Desean's TD.

    7. Teams are still taking advantage of Dawk in coverage, and even more disturbing was his weak attempt at trying to stop Forte from picking up the first down on the their second drive. Dawk had him in his sights and instead of laying the wood went for the arm tackle and gave up the first down.

    8. Our all-star CBs got took to school several times. I saw Doo Doo once, Lito once, and Assante twice get burned bad in man coverage.

    9. Offensive line had a bad day in the run blocking department. I know the Bears defense is geared to towards stopping the run, but we're supposed to have a very good run blocking line. Hopefully Andrews comes back soon.

    10. Other than the first TD to Oslen where he got burned, GoCong had a very good game; I wish JJ would blitz him more. OG and Bradley still looking very good.

    11. DE: Cole beats his man pretty much every time, but for some reason he can't draw a the holds that ensue. He needs to figure out how to get the ref to notice these holds or he is no longer a threat or even someone you need to double team. JP looked good for the the second week in a row and Howard continues his resurgence. This group could be special if Abimiri comes back healthy and plays to his potential.

    12. Glad to see Reggie back catching balls and being in sync with Donny. Had a drop or two and I would have liked to see him fight a little harder to get out of bounds on the final drive but, overall it was a good game for him. Curtis-Brown-Jackson could be really good come December.

    13. What happened to Hank Baskett this week? Barely got on the field. I did see him make a nice chip block lined up tight to the formation that allowed McNabb the time to make a throw down field.

    14. Akers: why they didn't bring someone into camp to compete for the spot continues to piss me off. This guy needs to see a sports shrink and get his problems solved fast or find his way to the unemployment line.

    15. Rocca had a subpar game today.

    16. Buckhalter looked good any time he got any kind of room. Saw him miss a cutback lane early in the game, but other than that looked good.

    re#13:

Baskett and Brown mostly play the same position. Baskett didn't get time b/c Brown did--it's a good problem to have, but sometimes I think Baskett might be a better player versus some defenses.

I cannot believe how much Trent Cole gets held. It's ridiculous. Those refs didn't call a single holding penalty all game; in a way the biggest coaching lapse of the day was not instructing our o-line to hold like fiends during the goal line stand.

It's time to collect these holds into a video summary.
If the Eagles team is not going to do it, maybe an interested
        group could. Any interest?

I wish I worked for NFL films and got to watch film all day like Jaws.
