  • i love SMART football

Just watching the Ravens-Redskins game. Ed Reed intercepts a pass with 2 mins left and instead of trying to pad his stats and getting on sportscenter, he does the smart thing and gives himself up immediately because the game is done and he doesn't need to do something stupid like try to score and fumble it away and give the Redskins a chance.

Just like when Westy gave himself up.

Is this the same Ed Reed that tried to lateral after intercepting 5 vs the Eagles a few weeks ago and instead of it going down as a fumble and Eagle recovery, the Ravens scored shortly after???? Or was that a different member of the Ravens' secondary?

I didn't say Ed Reed was smart. Maybe he learned from that mistake?

You can thank Runyan for that because Westy didn't really want to go down. If Runyan didn't scream at him to I doubt he would have gone down.

Yeah, for a guy that looks like a dumb ol country bumpkin, Runyan has plenty on the ball....so to speak.

When I saw this thread title, I thought it was going to be about deciding to stick with a run game when it was temps in the teens and windy......

Or calling a TO to make sure your guy had the wind for his 51 yard attempt.
