CT scan today. What we found out today is that the tumor in the right side of my lung appears to be mostly stable. The area that is the upper half of my right lung is a solid mass now due to
Atelectasis, or a collapsing of the lung. There is no air passing into that half of the lung due to the stent that blocks off airflow to that area, as well as an effect of the additional radiation. The collapsed lung has left a void in my chest which is filling up with fluid. This change in my lung structure, along with probable shifting of the stent, is what is causing my chest pain. We may have to do a procedure to drain off the fluid, but do not plan to at this time. We will see how much of that will resolve on its own as I continue to recover from the radiation's effects.
The plan right now is to wait 4 weeks and do a PET scan to get a better idea of how stable the cancer is, and to see how much of the other issues have resolved. Additional chemotherapy will need to wait as well to avoid increased risk of pneumonitis from the radiation treatment.
Radiologist agreed with the cardiologist that my heart issues are largely untreatable. Damaged by radiation, etc. Walking around at a snails pace, hoping not to pass out seems to be the best I will have to enjoy from here on out. Can't say that that has me jumping for joy. Hopefully our Eagles can provide me with some happiness If not, there is always worship!http://shop.cafepress.com/content/global/img/spacer.gifOK, let's try this again...

Thanks fellas. I'm here, but I am really struggling. Thank goodness I got the oxygen generator. I am hoping I adapt a bit in the next day or two, but right now I am barely functional. Thank goodness we brought my body Neil along. He has been able to help a lot. Couldn't make it without my friends!http://shop.cafepress.com/content/global/img/spacer.gifOK, let's try this again...

Had to leave Sedona. I couldn't handle the altitude. Just could not breathe. I got us a place in Scottsdale for the next few days, and we are going to chill out here. I hate leaving g my favorite place,....but at least I can breath again!http://shop.cafepress.com/content/global/img/spacer.gifOK, let's try this again...
