Eagles Notes: Hughes, linebacker, seizes opportunity

Eagles linebacker Stewart Bradley watched yesterday's practice from the sidelines at the NovaCare Complex.
"Just a little tweak of my hamstring," Bradley said, adding that he hurt himself while schemes were being installed and that the injury was "no big deal."
It became a big deal for Charleston Hughes, who moved up on the depth chart at yesterday's practice and got a chance to run with the second-team defense.
He made the most of his opportunity by coming up with a couple of impressive interceptions against a scout-team offense running New York Giants plays.
"It made me feel real good," Hughes said. "It just gives me a little better opportunity."
Hughes, who won the Grey Cup with the Calgary Stampeders in the Canadian Football League last season, will go to training camp next month as a long shot to make the team, but he's looking forward to the chance.
"I'm ready to hit," Hughes said. "That's my mind-set right now. I'm ready for contact and to make plays. I'm ready to go out and do what I have to do."
Two rookies sign. Paul Fanaika and Moise Fokou signed four-year contracts yesterday, bringing the number of signed draft picks to five. Fanaika, a guard from Arizona State, and Fokou, a linebacker from Maryland, were seventh-round picks.
Wide receiver Jeremy Maclin, a first-round pick; running back LeSean McCoy, a second-round selection; and tight end Cornelius Ingram, a fifth-round pick, remained unsigned.
Tickets on sale. A limited number of single-game tickets for the Eagles' eight regular-season and two preseason home games will go on sale at 10 a.m. Tuesday through Ticketmaster.
Seats can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com or charged by phone at 1-800-745-3000.
Tickets cost from $70 to $95, plus tax and convenience charges. There is a limit of four tickets per person. Tickets will not be sold at Lincoln Financial Field.
The team also announced plans for Eagles Flight Night, to be held at 7 p.m. Aug. 2 at the Linc. The event replaces the team's annual carnival and will include a live practice on the field with players wearing microphones, and fireworks afterward.

Extra points. Coach Andy Reid was asked yesterday about cornerback Asante Samuel's decision not to attend the final four days of this voluntary camp. "They're not mandatory camps," Reid said. "That's the thing. There's nothing I can say on that." . . . Offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg was informed yesterday that he had been elected to the Grizzly Sports Hall of Fame at the University of Montana, where he was the starting quarterback for four seasons.
