To a four year extension. Kid has come a LOOOOOONNNNNNG way this season.

Good for him. A truly improbable success story. He was caving in the line on some of those short yardage runs up the middle against the Bears.
Don't kid yourself Jimmy. If a cow ever got the chance, he'd kill you and everyone you cared about!

From scapegoat to four-year extension. Good.

          An unexpected but rewarding outcome!

We all remember how he was humiliated in the Giants game when, as a raw rook, he was a last minute replacement at LT. After that, he was dismissed as useless and called whatever you call a guy who is worse than a bust.

          Sometimes patience pays off.

Now watch him repay that patience with a demand next year for a better contract!

          J/K....I hope !

            Source: Justice gets $6M bonus

            ESPN.com news services

PHILADELPHIA -- Right tackle Winston Justice has signed a four-year contract extension with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Justice's deal is worth $18.15 million, including a $6 million signing bonus, a league source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The team announced the deal on Tuesday. Justice could have become an unrestricted free agent after this season.

A second-round pick in 2006, Justice has started every game this season after starting only one in his first three years in the NFL. He replaced Shawn Andrews, who didn't take a snap and was placed on injured reserve with a season-ending back injury.

Jon Runyan had started every game at right tackle for the Eagles since 2000, but he wasn't re-signed after last season and remains a free agent.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

Nice chunk of change for him.

Wonder what that means for Shawn Andrews' future, whatever that future may be. Would they move him back to guard if he does revive his career?

I wonder what this means for other potential FA. We've all speculated that no one would want to sign now since the salary cap is about to go away and cash will be raining down from the heavens.... guess this proved us wrong! Hopefully we can make some progress with other players too and lock them up before the CBA becomes an obstacle. On the other hand does signing players now increase the likelihood of disgruntled hold-outs after the next CBA? (Assuming of course that they raise the cap limits and salaries continue to escalate.)

Well Jukin, Winston has been playing well but his rep in the league is in the shitter. It's not like he's a prized free agent that will make a ton come uncapped years. He needed to get his now and be secure. I'm sure this is what his agent and advisors told him.

                    * His reputation is in the sh*tter? I'm not sure I believe that. Why would that be the case? People ignore his play this year and go "Oh but he had a terrible night as a rookie once".

                    Huh?

You're probably right but remember that public perception plays a role. And first impressions last a long time.

So while GMs and scouts will look at all the game tape, the fans will say "what the f? WInston Justice? Why'd we pay him $Xm?" and that will add pressure to Justice to perform. Despite the myth that players don't read the papers, a lot of them do. Sure there's a handful who are oblivious but they do feel that pressure to perform.

In any case, I don't think WJ is a prize free agent. He was smart to get his now.

Q F T..... Just glad that the FO and Reid pay very little attention to the conclusion jumpers (in general) and the media.

Well deserved, and good for him. He got hung out to dry by the coaches against one of the best pass rushes that I have ever seen, on national television, and responded by quietly working his a$$ off. He had a great camp, assumed the starter's roll because of Andrews' injuries, and has played very well all season.

In fact, I think that if Shawn Andrews ever does make it back on the field, they might seriously want to consider putting him back at his RG spot.

I am a bit surprised they did it now, but kudos to Justice. We needed him and he has responded well
