  • Leonard Weaver

Let's get this guy signed. I don't care if next year is an uncapped year, a capped year -- I want him around. What a great complementary weapon in this offense.

I loved this signing right from the get-go and it's nice to see him stepping up with some of the injuries to the big weapons on offense. That one-handed catch and run yesterday was something to see from a fullback.
Don't kid yourself Jimmy. If a cow ever got the chance, he'd kill you and everyone you cared about!

They will get this done. I'm not concerned. If he wants to be in Philly... which he should because AR clearly knows how to use him.... he will be back.
You know Darren if you'd have told me 10 years ago that someday I was going to solve the world's energy problems I'd have said your crazy.... now lets drop this big ball of oil out the window.

Yesterday Johnson made several references to the Eagles' acquisition of Weaver having gone largely unnoticed. My recollection is that it was VERY noticed by those of us who have been begging for a real FB ever since Jon Ritchie tore up his knee.

I can't imagine the Birds not doing what's needed to sign Weaver up...'he is who we thought he was!'

It was not a high-profile FA signing. Weaver sat out there for a long time, didn't get much in the way of a market for his services and ended up signing a one-year deal, probably hoping to showcase himself in this offense and set up for a better deal this offseason.

His catch over the middle was amazing for a WR.

He SEEMS so slow yet somehow is able to get some fast yards.

I agree, I know that I am not the only one that was really happy to get this pickup this offeseason. We were all happy about it to my recollection. I was happier about this signing than any of our other FA signings, including Peters.

I guess we could always franchise him, right? How high can the franchise tag be for a FB? Or is all of that out the window with next season's cap-uncertainty?

All I know is that I was happy to get him, glad he's here, and I want him around for a long time. What a multi-talented stud he is.

Agree about potentially franchising Weaver, Fresh. Can't imagine it would cost that much in terms of salary, although Weaver might not like it.

Only way Weaver isn't back is if he thinks he can be a feature back and wants to be paid as such. I don't think the Eagles would have a problem making him the highest paid fullback in the league.

My guess is that if the reports are correct about the cap--- it won't happen till the off season. And count me in the majority who think he is a great addition to this O.

That catch may have been the best catch I have ever seen a FB make,,,, All I can remember was screaming "are you kidding me" like 6 times.

Very good player and I agree most of us were quite happy they signed him...but I have to admit he has been even better than I thought

I wanted him based solely on his stats, but because he played on the left coast I didn't have an idea of the total package. He's actually better than I thought he was. The thing I like the most is his attitude from day 1. He really seems like a quality person and that will have as much bearing on his new contract. He is what the Birds want of their players.I don't think the Birds will mess this up,he will get signed.
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

He is certainly better as a receiving option than I thought. Seriously, is this guy the PERFECT fullback fo rour system or what????

                            Great job there, Andy.
