  • Sean Lee, MLB, Penn St. (6-3, 236)

It would seem that he might be the "safe" pick because he is a super instinctive kid that has decent measurables and is tough. He had a knee injury but seems to have recovered nicely. My question would be is he athletic enough to play sideline to sideline because if he is not I would look elsewhere. Also, he appears to be a bit undersized for the middle. And, has he maxed out his talent. Is there more upside with Bowman who is a few years younger.
You know Darren if you'd have told me 10 years ago that someday I was going to solve the world's energy problems I'd have said your crazy.... now lets drop this big ball of oil out the window.

the silence was deafening with this kid so i'm assuming no one is overly impressed with him as a MLB. what we sure don't need is another matt mccoy or marc simoneau... a pumped up 210 pounder that is going to get run over a lot

I don't recall hearing much about him or seeing anything. I have no basis on which to judge him outside of any commenatry offered by those more familiar with his talents/shortcomings.

if he's 6-3, 236, i'll eat my shorts. looks like a good college player to me, career NFL backup and special teamer.
Don't kid yourself Jimmy. If a cow ever got the chance, he'd kill you and everyone you cared about!

          Production2
          • 2005: (8/0), 11 tackles
          • 2006: (13/13) 90 tackles, 8 TFL, 5.5 sacks, 1 INT, 2 PBU, 2 FR, 2 FF
          • 2007: (13/12) 138 tackles, 10.5 TFL, 3.5 sacks, 1 INT, 8 PBU, 3 FR, 3 FF; Second-team All-Big Ten
          • Height-Weight-Speed2Thick build, good frame and above-average top-end speed.
          • Durability4Tore ACL in his right knee during a non-contact drill in April of 2008 and underwent surgery later that month. Missed the 2008 season as a result.
          • Intangibles1Coaches rave about his hard work off the field and leadership skills. 2006: Academic All-Big Ten. 2005: Earned Dean's List recognition during the fall semester.Inside Linebacker specific Traits
          • Instincts/Recognition1Excellent football intelligence. Quickly diagnoses plays and gets into position. Disciplined and can be counted on to carry out assignment. Sniffs out screens and draws.
          • Strength/Toughness2Good upper and lower body strength. Generally stays balanced and under control. Uses hands to control and shed blockers in phone booth situations. Applied this concept in a battle against Michigan OLT Jake Long (# 1 overall pick in 2008 ) in 2007. Doesn't explode into blockers or jar them with a violent initial punch.
          • Range vs. Run3Instincts allow him a quick jump on the ball. Takes precise angles to the point. However, shows some tightness in hips and struggles with any sudden change of direction. Closing burst is adequate at best and doesn't have sideline-to-sideline range.
          • Tackling2A strong and consistent wrap up tackler. Displays excellent technique and breaks down in the open field. However, lacks the power of strikers like Ray Lewis, Patrick Willis, and Rey Maualuga.
          • 3rd Down Capabilites3Shows good awareness and senses receivers crossing behind him when roaming underneath in zone coverage. However lack of fluidity and burst make him a liability in man coverage. Times blitzes well but lacks the closing speed to consistently get to the quarterback.

Surely, some Penn State fan can offer insight?

By the way, I'm editing posts for layout whenever I can.

I think Lee will be a player in the pros. Alot of guys need over a year to return. I'd venture to say he'll be a lot better as a 2nd year back. He was destined for stardom prior to the injury and I'd think he can regain that form. He'll be a nice value pick in the 3rd/4th round.
