    I don't think they do.

You're forgetting that there are still owners looking for public funding for new stadiums - so fan support is important to the league. They definitely don't want to see a team lose funding for a stadium because of this and while we're on the subject guys like Jer-ah can't afford to have a lock out with the mortgage he has on that $1.2 billion playpen. Some of those owners aren't going to be able to withstand losing 4-5 games when they not only have to pay the loans but will probably need to refund some of the signage and advertising revenue they collected if the season is lost. We're talking about big money for some of these mega-stadiums.

Rent-A-Center will take back that big-screen TV, stadium or no, in a heartbeat!

As an aside, didn't the players union already start a strike fund (for lack of a better term) and didn't the owners already implement a clause that had something to do with sharing revenue that allowed lowewr market teams to get some money for players. Certainly both were posturing things if I recall correctly but both sides are throwing things out there to say to the other side that they are willing to fight.
Personally I think those things are pretty minor so they really don't say I want to fight very hard. And I agree about no lockout for next year; just an uncapped year. However, does anyone think they would go back to a cap after living without one for a year? Keep in mind it goes both ways; no ceiling and no floor. I know it is a minority opinion but I can see them going back to a cap system even if they play next year without one. I think they know it is good for all.
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy

All I know is that if the salary cap and revenue sharing go away, I'm going to be incredibly upset. They have to know that competitive balance is healthy for the league. Pete Rozelle was right.

I've got to tell you guys. I grew up rooting for two teams, the Baltimore Colts, and the Orioles. They were the local teams here. Either the Colts or the Redskins, and the O's. So, in 1984 Bob Irsay, such a wonderful person if there ever was one, moved the Colts out of town in the middle of the night, in a snowstorm.

And, then there's MLB, and the Orioles. No revenue sharing + no salary cap + Peter Angelos = Loss of fan. Gone. And, along the way, I completely lost interest in baseball. I was a huge O's fan, my dad was. But, pro baseball sucks to me.

So, it's kind of ironic that the league that saw my team taken from me is the last bastion of pro sports I have left. It's not perfect, but if you have a good FO and coaches, you can win, and in the end that's what really matters.

I try to get into the Flyers, but the NHL has become the NBA, with it's superstar protection and bullshit officiating. And I don't doubt there's a "relationship" between the league office, and the officials either.

The NFL is a good product, and every one of us probably thinks that it's such a sweet deal that they can't f'ck it up. But, never underestimate the power of greed, rich a$sholes, and super rich a$sholes.
