  • Another day, another injury....

97.5 - ESPN is reporting that Maclin appears to have hurt his knee limped off the field. I assume they'll put him through an MRI but they haven't said how serious it is yet. Still looking for another source to confirm this.....

OK from Comcast Sportsnet.... sounds like he hyperextended it and it may have been bothering him earlier this morning.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Add Jeremy Maclin to the injury list.

The Eagles' second-year wide receiver was carted off the practice field Tuesday afternoon with a hyperextended left knee.

Maclin fell to the turf during the play – during which a pass was thrown to tight end Brent Celek – and remained down for several minutes. He briefly left the morning practice but returned, admitting afterward that his left leg has been bothering him.

Head coach Andy Reid ended practice after that play.

“It definitely can kill the mood at the end of practice when something like that happens,” receiver Hank Baskett said.

The Eagles are already without wide receiver DeSean Jackson, who has not practiced since Saturday, when he was carted off the practice field with a lower back injury.

Maclin last season became the first rookie in team history to catch more than one touchdown of 40 or more yards in the same game, recording scores of 51 and 40 yards against Tampa Bay. He finished with 56 receptions for 773 yards and four touchdowns.

            (more coming ... )

I was there today and saw him get hurt in the A.M. practice, he was down for a little bit and then got up and limped off. I later saw him standing right in front of me with a black support wrap on his calf and he was trying to stretch it out, it didn't look like it was working. Did he suffer another inj. in the afternoon session?

Ah, that answers my question. The way he was limping and favoring his leg in the A.M. there's no fucking way he should have been practicing in the P.M.!

The Birds and Phillies may not actually experience more injuries than average, but it sure seems that they do. Its gotten to the point that I hesitate to check sports sites for fear of seeing the 'next shoe' that has dropped!

I may have a solution! How 'bout offering a sacrifice to the Sports Gods? I'm thinking something like Brett Favre's still beating heart dropped in Roger Goodell's executive suite toilet!

It might not really help the Birds or Phils, but it would certainly make the world a better place!

The ravens have suffered way more serious injuries than the birds, and I'm gonna assume, without any proof, that most teams all suffer these types of hammys and hyper-extensions and sore this that or the other thing.

I do not think the Eagles, so far this year, have had any thing that could be considered serious injury problems so far this camp.

I agree on the fact that SO FAR, we have had nothing devastating happen (still waiting on the official Maclin report).

But, compared to the f'ing Cowboys, the Eagles are far more unlucky when it comes to critical injuries year after year. The only thing that I can think of, is that Jerry Jones sold his soul to the devil (if he wasn't the devil already).

Agreed. I can't think of a serious injury the Cowboys have had to battle through in a long time. No offensive lineman?? A WR?? RB but big deal on that they have a stable. No injury to romo or a serious injury to a defensive back.

It just goes back to this. I hate the Cowboys.
You know Darren if you'd have told me 10 years ago that someday I was going to solve the world's energy problems I'd have said your crazy.... now lets drop this big ball of oil out the window.

MD you may be right but I still endorse Tino's suggestion of a Farve sacrifice (hereafter called a 'Farverafice') to appease the football Gods and give a better quality of life to all of us.

Dixon could be serious. He was dizzy and fell to the ground. The jury is still out on Mac. It's a brutal game.

at this point I hope it is nothing serious with Maclin. If so, most of the injuries have been minor and I hope it continues
