  • Allen's Recovery Time

According to Philly.com 6 months or more for a complete recovery.Hope to see you in camp son.
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

Who knows? Everybody is different. Welker made it back in a hurry after the same injury. He was at camp from the get go this fall.

I think this is easier to recover from than an ACL and Allen is young so I would say he will be back next year. Graham would be the one I'm more concerned with. He is bigger and relies on leverage more...has to play with more knee bend. And I just think and ACL is a 12-18 month injury. I will tell you this much. If there is a pass rusher in the first 2-3 rounds that the Birds like a lot I would not pull the trigger but instead ask who the Giants like and steal him because we seem to get it wrong and they seem to get it right.
You know Darren if you'd have told me 10 years ago that someday I was going to solve the world's energy problems I'd have said your crazy.... now lets drop this big ball of oil out the window.

supposedly the giants liked graham, which is why we moved ahead of them. jpp was their consolation prize, which seems to be working out well. that said, i am not giving up on graham in the least.

Funny you brought this up. I happened to twist my knee a few weeks ago and this past Tuesday I went to see an Orthopedic Surgeon at Temple Sports Medicine. My diagnosis was a strained patella tendon which caused me to ask about Nate Allen's likelihood of making it back in time for training camp. The Doc told me that recovering from a torn patella that requires surgery is a 6-8 month stint. Nate has a full medical staff to work with on a daily basis so he'll likely be on the shorter end. The Doc essentially said not to expect him for TC but he should be at 100% in time for the first game. Keep in mind this is a normal Doc and not Nate Allen's doctor so he hasn't seen him or the medical records. But he is a football fan and was up on what Allen had done. If it means anything he does expect him to be ready for next Fall.
