Allen played well before to the injury as a rook and has all the makings to be a good S in this scheme. I like Coleman too, he works hard and has that nasty dog attitude Dawk always talked about....but after that I'm not sure what we got or what would have been better in FA/trade....alot of teams are trying to find S, the position is not high profile and few studs exist

I don't know if these 2 qualify as real "surprises", but I don't see Cooper making this team and I see Brett Bracket beating out Harbour.

IMO, Cooper may hang on, as may Harbor. If Brackett can block better than Harbor, then of course that works in his favor and may grease the skids for harbor's exit.

Jarrett was a wrecking machine at Temple. I was hoping his hard hitting would make up for the lack of hitting from our corners. I am still hopeful for him, since it was hard for anyone to break into Juan's defense last year. Had to be real hard for a rookie to learn with no lbers in front of him and a gambling Samuels. Also, remember, they wanted to use three corners most of the time, making his position lesser used.

someone has to like him to not go out a grab the skins safety when they could have

Not to mention the lack of coaching and vanilla game planning that comes from a first year DC who hasn't looked at the defensive side things in a decade or two. Hopefully everyone sees drastic improvement this year with a little experience and full training camps in place.

For someone to play the way he does,IMO he needs to be real sure of himself and better know the guys around him as well. IMO his game depends heavily in knowing the system and all it's components. He will get better with knowledge.Once he knows what's going on he can just play.

E60 I'm in agreement with the Harbor/Brackett move. I don't know about his strength and in line blocking, but he's a quality kid and player.
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.
