T.O. may face jail time over child support




Terrell Owens is $20,000 behind on child support payments and may be facing jail time, Eric Byfield of WSBTV in Atlanta reports.

Owens, a former wide receiver did not show up, and Judge John Goger was upset.

Owens' attorney, David Hartin, told the judge it was his fault Owens was not there. He said he didn’t communicate well with his client.

Melanie Smith, the mother of Owen’s 7-year-old daughter, said he has not made child support payments in months. A previous agreement required Owens to pay Smith $5,000 per month.

"It's a tragedy, not only that we are here today; this is the third case she has had to file in the last year," Smith’s attorney Randy Kessler told Byfield. said.

"We are hoping next week the case will come to a resolution and Mr. Owens will pay and pay every month," said Kessler.

Owens hired agent Drew Rosenhaus in April and announced he was not happy with his contract. He also tells CNBC that, despite making $7.5 million in 2004, he needs a new contract to “feed his family.”

The guy signed a 3 year $25 million deal with Dallas (forget what he made in SF, Philly, Buffalo, Cinn. the TV show and various endorsement deals) and you're telling me he can't afford to feed his own children? He has to have made over $50 million in the last 15 years and somehow he can't support his own kids? He's a pitiful excuse for a human being! His own kids!!! I'd give my life for my child and this asshole won't write a check for his? Did he really never once, considered putting money in a trust fund for his children to protect them and ensure for their futures? Somehow I doubt his agents, managers and financial advisers all ignored this basic concept. It's far more likely that Owens just said no to the idea of giving his children a future because it meant spending his money on someone other than himself. This guy is an absolute piece of shit!!!

Get a job! Shovel shit with your bare hands until you die if that what it takes, but PAY THE CHILD SUPPORT YOU ASSHOLE!!

i saw this guy on dr. phil and honestly the guy IS a psychopath.

i don't throw that around too often. michael vick was not a psychopath when he did what he did. neither was rae carruth. he was just trying to get out of paying child support but hiring a hitman. it wasn't like carruth had a pattern of disregard for the laws of society...and again now i'm defending rae carruth.

guys like O.J. Simpson and T.O. and Mehta World Peace are psychopaths because they think what they are doing is ok. they don't think the rules of society apply to them and they feel singled out. that makes you a psychopath.

t.o. was on dr. phil and made excuse after excuse and then when the women said you never want to see your kids his whole, "I love my kids" thing blew up in the wind.

seriously, the guy is a court low on common sense and is probably going to end up on the business end of a shotgun. i hope he gets help because i don't want to see anyone end up killing themselves but that guy accepts no responsibility for his actions at all.
