Yeah because Trotter is great in coverage. He can go one-on-one with any wide reciever in the league.

I always blamed that game on the fact that the Eagles got their asses kicked. But that's just me, I guess.

The same thing could be asked about JJ's reticence to play Trotter over Simoneau in the first few games of 2004. Trotter obviously knew the defense (He had been here before) and everybody and his brother knew he was a better player than Simy.

No denying the premise about some backups being better than the starters. No denying that "everybody and his brother knew he[Trotter] was a better player than Simy". But factually, Trotter himself and JJ also said that it took Trotter about 8 games to come back up to speed with what JJ wanted. There had been some changes and he had some things to improve on as well.

I guess I am the only one here who's abiding memory of that NFCCG is watching Dawkins and Taylor flail and fail helplessly in the endzone as they gave away a TD.
