  • **The Official "Predict the Eagles Draftees" Thread

I haven't started a thread in so long, but I am starting to get amped about the upcoming draft.

There is no tangible award for this, just the satisfaction of being a nerd and good at guessing.

List 3 possible picks per each Eagles pick.
You get 1 point if the player is selected.
2 points if he is actually selected in the round you chose.
1 point if you list "trade" as the pick and they indeed trade that pick

    Round 1 (4)
    Round 2 (35)
    Round 3 (67)
    Round 4 (101)
    Round 5 (136)
    Round 7 (210)
    Round 7 (212)
    Round 7 (21
    Round 7 (239) Compensatory pick - can't be traded

    all hail draft nerds!

I've done this in the past, but I'm quite happy to let someone else do the work! Way to step to the plate, Dawk!

We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

I've done these in the past but with this new regime I have no clue. I might have "some idea" early but I'll cut off my picks after rd #5:
        Rd #1 Star, Fisher, Johnson.
Rd #2 Manuel, Sly Williams, Watson (OT)
        Rd #3 McDonald(FS), Collins(OLB), Escobar(TE)
        Rd #4 Williams(OLB),McDonald(TE), Poyer(CB).
        Rd #5 Spence(DT), Scott(QB), McGee.
I honestly think we will trade down in Rd #1 and still end up with Star but if Kelly thinks that Fisher or Johnson are THE guy then we stay put at #4.
Just give me ONE before I go!

I'll refrain from making any picks because I have some anxiety over them blowing this pick on a mediocre player. Maybe it’s just my old fears from the Reid era when they had to prove that they were smarter than everyone else. I guess I won’t be completely comfortable until I see that they made a pick and it’s not some 6’8”, 150 lb lanky stick from Uganda that they intend to use as an Offensive tackle!

I just hope Chip doesn't go PAC 10 happy because he's familiar with those guys. I do like that TE from Stanford though.

2 for 2 and 4 points for me

Would be psyched to see Margus still be there with our next pick

That streak will end. 2 of my 3rd rounders are now gone and there is no way we take another TE

                          Oh well

Nobody had Barkley on their list

I pick up a point for Earl Wolff being picked. Albeit 2 rounds earlier than I had it.
