  • CSN: Vick Says Foles Should Remain Starter

Team should stick with the hot hand: http://www.csnphilly.com/football-ph...es-starting-qb

    EXCERPT:
Nobody has come out and said it. Not Chip Kelly, not Pat Shurmur, not Howie Roseman.
Leave it to Michael Vick to finally be the one to say it:

Nick Foles has to stay in the lineup, even when Vick is healthy.

Vick, during his weekly, paid call-in spot on radio station 94 WIP, said Thursday night that the Eagles need to let Foles continue to play after Vick is fully healed from his nagging hamstring injury. “In all honesty, in all fairness, how can you take a guy out of the game who’s been playing so well?” Vick said

I am going to have to say, well done MV. It shows again that you really have come a long way from the punk you entered the league as.

Absolutely. Vick has been nothing but honorable and respectable since he has been here. Just an unbelievable change. I kept expecting to see him slip up and show his ass at some point, but it hasn't happened. Which tells me that the change may actually be genuine.

I expect Marcus Vick to tweet something stupid soon to counteract the Michael Vick class.

I don’t know if this is a matter of him saying and doing the right things or even he can see it is a no win situation for him to take back the starter role. I gotta believe it is because even he is smart enough to know that he has everything to lose by taking over the starter again. First, the pay is the same regardless of whether he is sitting or playing. Does anyone think he can he realistically play better than Foles? He was having a decent (some would say much improved) year and demonstrated he can still play, but he has never played a series of games like Foles. While I think he is the perfect fit as a backup here, if he hurts himself or plays marginally, he compromises his chances of signing elsewhere next year. Likewise, if Foles gets hurt or sees the level of his play his play deteriorate, he has a shot to come in and save the team.

You got to admit that MV is one hell of a backup QB.

I give him a lot of credit. I absolutely HATED the idea of him coming here, but he has shown that he has grown up and matured and as far as I can tell he has walked the walk during his time here. Keep it up Mike!

It was refreshing to see this. He has been quite the professional. I haven't liked when he's moped on the sidelines a couple of times but this move really helps unify the locker room. It shows him putting the team first. I really hope they have a package or two that puts both Foles & Vick on the field at the same time. Think of a pitch to Vick that rolls out to the left!

Junk, my wife wouldn't talk to me for 2 weeks after we signed him (like I had anything to do with it!). Now she really likes Vick. He's a changed man. For once "the system" worked.

Really poor imitation. You used punctuation, spelled every word correctly, and didn't have a single bit of profanity.

I hated Vick with a white hot intensity and was very angry when AR, playing head coach and social worker, signed him. My wife also was furious that the Birds signed him and questioned how I could EVER root for him. She still has very little time for him but has 'avoided' taking notice of the changes he's made as a man.

He has handled the Foles situation with more class and dignity than Icould have hoped for. Brett Favre should have displayed half the maturity with Rogers that Vick has shown with Foles.

I can never forget what he did and I can't really say I forgive him but I do admire the fact that has really redeemed himself and has changed from a vile punk POS to a good man.

He never became the QB he might have been but he became a better person than I ever thought possible. He desrves much credit for that and he couldn't have done it if AR and Lurie didn't take a big risk in signing him. So they share in the credit for accomplishing something that's maybe even more important than winning football games.

I just can't lower my IQ to Marcus Vick levels, even for a second.
