South Carolina QB Connor Shaw drawing lots of interest

There has been a lot of talk about how the top quarterback prospects in the 2014 are falling down many NFL draft boards. The bigger story, however, may be the depth of this year's quarterback class as evidenced by the interest being shown to South Carolina QB Connor Shaw according to Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post.

Over the last eight days, Shaw has either met or worked out with the Atlanta Falcons, Tennessee Titans and the New England Patriots. He is meeting with the Cleveland Browns Thursday and Friday and the Browns also arranged a private workout on the South Carolina campus. Shaw has interviewed with the Seattle Seahawks, Green Bay Packers, Oakland Raiders and Jacksonville Jaguars. The Miami Dolphins and the St. Louis Rams have also displayed a lot of interest in the Southeastern Conference standout as have the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

This all comes after what seemed to be an uncertain future after a somewhat disappointing senior season. As a junior, Shaw was twice named SEC Offensive Player of the Week twice and completed a school-record 67.5 percent of his passer and finished third in the SEC with a 158.1 quarterback rating. He finished second on the team with 435 rushing yards and three touchdowns. South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier has called Shaw the best quarterback in school history with a 27-5 record as a starter and he went 17-0 at home.

Shaw's stock seemed to rise after an excellent performance at the NFL Scouting Combine in February. The 6-foot, 212-pounder is known for his character, accuracy and production and most NFL scouts have assigned a third-round grade on him when earlier assessments had him drafted in the fifth round or later. According Wilson's sources, one NFC West team believes Shaw has second-round talent and could be a prolific starter in the NFL.

Wait until they start talking about the NDSU QB; then you will know they are looking EVERYWHERE
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
    Hope is not a strategy
    RIP
