  • Top 2015 CB Prospect Ekpre-Olomu Injures Knee In Practice

Unfortunate. He was considered in some quarters to be a first-round talent at CB.

Perhaps Chip might take a mid-to-late round flyer on him, despite the injury and his size.

    Can't hurt that he's a Duck...

Oregon senior cornerback Ifo Ekpre-Olomu severely injured his knee during practice Tuesday and will miss the rest of the season, according to a team source.

Ekpre-Olomu, named first-team All-American by the Associated Press on Tuesday, is arguably the team's best defender and will be sorely missed when the No. 3 Ducks take on 2013 Heisman winner, Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston during the first round of the national playoffs in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1.

Ekpre-Olomu, also named all-Pac-12, is projected by many to be a first-round pick in next spring's NFL Draft.
His absence against No. 2 Florida State (13-0) will hurt the Ducks' chances of slowing down FSU senior wide receiver Rashad Greene, projected to be a high-round pick, as well. Green leads the Seminoles with 93 receptions for 1,306 yards and seven touchdowns.

Ekpre-Olomu has 63 tackles and nine passes defended, including two interceptions. He has started every game for Oregon (12-1) since becoming a full-time starter as a freshman in the middle of the 2011 season.

Yes he is worth a gamble. The key is what round. Do you wait until the fifth-I doubt it
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
        Hope is not a strategy
        RIP

It appears that he has a $3 million injury insurance policy that will pay out if he slips out of the top end of the draft:

he is definitely worth even a 4th or 5th round pick but this is a shame and why I hate the NCAA. both he and Gurley would have been paid in the 8 figures and now they have to rehab and hope they can get back to where they were.

look no further than marcus lattimore.

Ekpre-Olomu has a $3 million loss of value insurance policy, which has been paid for by the University of Oregon, a source with knowledge of the arrangement told ESPN.

If he slips in the NFL draft because of this injury, he will begin collecting money at the beginning of the second round. If he slips past the beginning of the third round, he would receive all $3 million.
The school paid for the policy? Is this normal, to entice them to come back?

We've got a great healthy undersized corner now. Why do we want this guy?

rated #1 CB in draft and crippled he's better than Fletcher

So is Boykin and he takes 40% of the defensive snaps.

If the kid is the top rated CB in the draft and he falls to the 4th or 5th rd it would be foolish NOT to pick him . The only way this team gets better is to improve the quality at each position.

The way Boykin is playing, he should see less than 40% of the snaps.
