From the link above I thought great save and no goal. But, I saw another angle at the link below that changed my mind.

Go to the 1:55 mark. The puck appears to have completely crossed the line for a fraction of a second.

Hard to tell if the puck is in the air or on edge. If it is, then that could explain the "white" between the puck and the red line. They need a camera built into the crossbar.

In the Barclay's Premier Soccer League, they spent a large sum of money on goal line technology which supposedly indiscriminately determines whether a ball has crossed the line. Don't see why this same technology couldn't be applied to hockey.

Years ago, I remember some "super slo-mo" cameras that recorded at a really high framerate and showed replays well -- the puck stayed in focus the entire time. I guess they were too expensive. That helped with plays like this, where the puck is a blur and seems to be heading in with one frame, and coming out after hitting the pad the next, so neither frame is definitive but it seems likely it did cross the line in between them.

I wish they still used the tracer puck of 5 or so years ago. NOT!!!!!
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

I'm lucky if I can see the puck half the time in slow motion. If that red light didn't come on I'd think every game was scoreless.

I actually liked the blue haze around the puck... it let you follow it better on TV, especially when the puck was up against the near boards and not visible. The tracer stuff though... utterly awful.
