  • Check out Spads!

Just some recent snippets from Mr. Positive.......

Twice in the last two weeks, with the ball on the goal line, the Eagles chose to throw the football. Both played failed.

It's high time for the running game to be a more established element in this offense. The Eagles have relied on McNabb to be the primary playmaker in his eight seasons and now, with his third serious injury since 2002, that can no longer be the case for the forseeable future.

You wonder about a lot of things when a season goes south. You wonder about leadership. You wonder about maturity. You wonder about talent evaluation and coaching and everything.

The Eagles have a philosophy, one that is not working at all right now.

I am certain that everyone here is absolutely steamed ... And I know you want immediate answers and gratification, but I have none. I am stunned, disappointed, shocked, and PO'd and disgraced.

And my personal favorite..."The Eagles just sucked."

And Spads also speculates as I did on the Hood thing....

That Roderick Hood was inactive was really mystifying. Reid's explanation that Joselio Hanson played better in practice during the week suggests to me that Hood has somehow gotten himself in the doghouse. There was no injury factor here.

I couldn't stomach that either. Sounds to me like they are trying to find out what Hanson and James can give them because Hood isn't in the plans. Seems like a bit of double talk from the brass in terms of putting the best 11 out there.

Ahh, but Hanson is playing better. Reid says so.

If there was any doubt before, none remains. If Hood doesn't agree to a bargain contract, he is history. I'm thinking contract talks are not going well there.

The Hood thing stinks to high hell with me. He played well against Washington and he is a solid STs player. And even if you want to get Will James time on defense, at least have Hood active to help that shitty STs coverage.

Sheldon was asked about it on the PG show and his response was pretty much "Troy told me years ago that you have to know when to not open your mouth" which was basically him saying he has nothing good to say about it and if he did talk he'd get into trouble.

Hood not dressing yesterday is WAY down the list of things that is wrong but it still struck me as bullshit.

On the flip side.........There MAY be some justification. We know that Reid has wanted to shake things up, remove any complacency ofter our bad stretch here. It's possible that Hood was dogging it in practice, and maybe he deserved to sit. It's possible.

            But something DOES stink here.

I don't believe for one second that this has anything to do with his contract. Reid dosnt' air the dirty laundry, but my guess is Hood was not practicing the way Reid though he should.

I think it's JJ's call, not Reids. I still believe Reid manages the offense, and leaves the D entirely on JJ.

Maybe there's an area where Reid might have to change a bit.
"You will dress only in attire specially sanctioned by P.E. special services… You are no longer part of the system. You are above the system, over it, beyond it. We're "them." We're "they." We are the Men in Green."

I bet Hood snubbed Andy one morning walking the halls of the NovaCare Complex and Reid was all like "oh no you di'ent". Either that or he keyed his car.

Hey, my guess is about as good as all the rest in that NONE OF US know what's up. But speculating is fun, I guess.

Or Hood did something stupid. This team doesn't air dirty laundry. Maybe Hood was goofing off in practice and just plain not taking it seriously. Who knows? If that's what happened, I wouldn't expect Reid to come out and say that. He'd just say "Hanson and James were playing better." Just speculating.
